Fabulous tasty food in a warm, friendly, relaxed environment. Ample parking and also dog-friendly. Have already booked again.

My husband and I ate at The Olive on a Saturday evening. We both thoroughly enjoyed our night. The food was so so lovely and the atmosphere matched. Can't wait for the opportunity to go again.

Delicious breakfast, well looked after, in a lovely setting next to a roaring fire. Will definitely be back.

I've visited Olive a few times now and every time I've been very impressed. Always met with a smile and excellent service. The food is delicious and different with an edge beating many other eateries. I've recommended it to others as a place to go. Wonderful to have such a unique place to enjoy a relaxing meal.

Exceptional Food! We went for lunch. Scallops were amazing as were crab linguini and steak and frites. The service was super efficient and so friendly. A lovely welcome and buzzy atmosphere. Highly recommend. We will be back.

The food and recommended wines were the most beautiful combinations. Each course was described in a mouth watering manner. They were most attentive to us. We felt very pleasantly grateful for the whole experience. Well done!

We have just moved to Wells and booked the Olive Tree on our first night as it came with glowing reviews and we weren’t disappointed. A lovely venue with friendly staff and a great ambience. But, what really makes this place is the food. It is simple outstanding. Deliciously tasty, fresh and a great menu which leaves you struggling to decide what to eat as everything sounds fantastic! Oddly for us we went a bit fish crazy that night and had scallops and salmon to start and some fabulous Hake and Sea bass served with a side of chimichurri green beans for main. The crème brûlée and chocolate marquise for pudding were to die for. All of this was rounded off by a delicious petit Chablis and a lovely chat with the assistant manager, Louise, who was very friendly and accommodating and couldn’t have looked after us better. Great place, we WILL be back.

The vegetarian/vegan starter (squash with walnuts wrapped in courgette ribbon) was amazing! My partner’s cassoulet was tasty if not a huge portion; I thought my vegetarian/vegan barley risotto needed a bit more seasoning (maybe offer non-vegans cheese?) but was a decent portion. The restaurant itself is lovely too - the street view doesn’t do it justice.

Just for the purposes of research we ordered 1 of every small plate on the evening menu, they were all incredible! When they arrived at the table everything looked stunning. It was delicious, it was a the kind of meal where you used the last bits of bread to mop up the last yummy bits of sauce from each plate! Will definitely bit visiting again soon!

Every aspect of our 3-course meal was excellent with impressive attention to detail.(eg the bread is in-house and very tasty, the coffee tastes very good, the chocolates are a nice touch).
