FROM START TO FINISH WAS AN EXPERIENCE I WOULD LIKE TO EMULATE DAY IN DAY OUT, VERY PROUD THAT THIS BUISNESS IS WELSH WHICH IS FULL OF THE WELSH DRAGON

Good menu, excellent food and attentive service.

I booked early, letting them know we had a dog so required a dog friendly table. I got confirmation of a table no other advice. When attending we went to the restaurant entrance. We waited, there was a wedding on so stood respectfully and quiet. A waitress came over and ushered us outside and to the garden as we had a dog, and someone would be with us. It felt unwelcoming and disappointing as had we been advised when we booked, this could have been avoided. When we got to the garden we stood for 5 minutes with no one paying us any attention. From behind a voice said they had better go and see to the people waiting. We were welcomed politely and seated at our tent hut. It was cold and damp, although we had the heater on, as it is above the table our legs got cold as did our poor dog, who had to lay on cold stones all night. Had we been told we were outside when we booked we could have brought blankets for our leg and our dog. The waitress was very accommodating and found us some olives, which were not on the menu, to go with our wine, while we perused the menu. This was above and beyond. The gesture did however stick in the craw a little at bill time, as a can of olives, not decanted or presented with garnish, was rather expensive. The food and wine did not however let anyone down it was lovely and a pleasure to experience. If the review were to be based on the food alone this would be a full 5. Customer service did however let them down, and from other review not for the first time. Hopefully they can address this.

Able to book online for the same evening. Good atmosphere and decor to suit. Prompt service from the door and whilst at the table. Large portions for all, opted for sirloin steaks and ostrich sausages which were delicious. Will definitely think about eating here again as menu has something for everyone. Only thing is toilets are downstairs and quite steep - unless another option.

We were recommended to eat here and so glad we saved it until our last night, not cheap but the menu was a real taste extravaganza, the combinations of flavours worked so well together and the paired wines just worked so well. Would certainly go back when we are that way again.

Food was great, we had Sunday lunch. Service was slow and initially wasn’t the most friendly welcome. I had booked the restaurant although we were sat outside as we had a dog, would have appreciated if they could have let us know before hand we would be sat outside as our dog got cold and we weren’t dressed for sitting outside in March. I’m sure it would have been a much better experience if we didn’t have the dog and were inside.

We went for the first time to the place for Sunday Lunch on Easter Sunday. I thought it might be useful to you if I gave you a review of our experience. We found the decor of the place pleasant and inviting. Someone came to the desk straight away to greet us and take us to our booked table. There were only two other tables with people already seated. The place filled up later. The waiting staff were very pleasant. We had to wait a long time for each course. The food was excellent, when it finally arrived. We didn't feel it was the fault of the person waiting on our table so we left a tip in appreciation of her service. I do appreciate that a lack of staff is a problem since Covid but there appeared to be 4 people in the kitchen area, which seemed to be the cause of the delay. There seemed to be some sort of problem with the organisation of things. We hope this is helpful as we would like to return, the food is indeed very good, the chocolate egg creation was delicious!

Outstanding meal with great service - a real find and will definitely come back ! We stayed 2 night s and dined , one night in the cosy Cellar Bar and the second night in the outdoor pods which were lovely - & dog friendly! The service was very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious .

We've eaten 3 times in the last 3 years. Last night was just fantastic as always. Great potions, great service. 5 star. See again in May. Cheers .

Excellent meal, especially the main course. 2 of us had lamb, 2 had pork. We went for all the side dishes as well. So tasty. Good service, plenty of time between courses so it didn’t feel hurried. A great catch up evening with old friends.

Excellent all round

Had to try one of the pods and we were accommodated even in the wind and rain. The pod was cosy and warm with the overhead heater. Great service and the food was outstanding, some of the best we’ve ever had. Will definitely return when in the area and would highly recommend to others.
