Booked for Christmas Eve lunch. Staff were mostly really miserable, all except a man with glasses who I think may be the manager/owner…he’s always a pleasure to be served by. Our first waitress could barely crack a smile. As someone who often has to work Christmas Day or Boxing Day I understand working at Christmas isn’t ideal but it was only Christmas Eve and when you pick a job that involves working over Christmas you have to put on your happy face and serve the public with a smile…that’s what they’re paying for. Dinner was lovely but could have done with a little more food in the mains. Puddings were delicious but one order was taken wrong resulting in a delay and the others had eaten their pudding before this one arrived. Apologies were given but no offer of removing from the bill. No Christmas crackers either which was a surprise. Whenever we’ve eaten out of Christmas there is always crackers. Three (of the four of us) had two courses from the Christmas Fayre menu which should have been £21 each, but we were charged £15 for one course and then £6.50 for the puddings separately as though they were from the main dessert menu, even though they were puddings that were on the Christmas Fayre menu. Only 50p extra each extra so we didn’t complain but on principle it’s annoying we were charged extra.

Meal for 9 adults and 3 children. Food was good and the service was excellent. It was the 2 year olds birthday and the staff were lovely bringing his cake out and singing happy birthday. Had a thoroughly enjoyable day

We had a fantastic meal on Christmas Day. we had a table of 8 who all commented on how beautiful the food was, the staff were amazing and we had a really lovely day. Thank you to you all, we will definitely be back.

Lovely food and a warm , friendly atmosphere. Waiter was very helpful and the assistant manager got us to try their creative cocktails , they were delicious! We will definitely be back, throughly enjoyed by all .

Place fully booked but still received excellent service and food. Will definitely be back with family and friends.

We had a lovely family Sunday roast at the Inn this weekend. Not our first time and won’t be our last. The food is plentiful and delicious and the service is warm and friendly. Highly recommend.

We were a large table of 19 guests for a pre booked/pre ordered family Xmas meal. The service and food was very good, will definitely visit again .

We had booked a table of 12 for a Christmas community gathering. We had submitted our menu choice in advance. The service from the outset was fab and the food was excellently cooked and well prepared. Everyone had only good things to say about the service and food. Thank you to the team at The Last. We will all be back.

Have been a few times prior to the visit tonight & always enjoyed it. Table pre-booked for 5 people. It was not too busy but a few tables in, clearly though there was only 1 member of staff taking orders & serving drinks. We arrived 15minutes early, starters & drinks order taken - drinks took half hour to arrive, startes 40 minutes. We waited over an hour & half for the mains to arrive, which were perfectly acceptable & enjoyable but wayyyyy too long a wait. The restaurant was also extremely cold; to the point that each member of our party had to leave their coats on to eat. The server/bar maid worked really hard & was so polite & helpful but really should not have been left alone under that much pressure. Venue needs to be warm; service needs to be greatly improved fir us to return.

Fantastic meal. Had a table of 10 and not one of us had any issues. Everybody commented on how fantastic their meal was.

Second time here in a month for Sunday roast. Food is excellent and good value for 2 courses, but the real winner is the gravy! Second time we visited they had run out of stuffing by 2pm, which seems odd. Also, they could do with putting the heating or a fire on. Highly recommended despite this!

This is a wonderful restaurant but it is NOT in Newport Gwent! It is about 100 miles away in Newport Shropshire! Perhaps you should amend this detail on this website at once!
