A good meal with great service

Found online and ended up booking a table. Location excellent and dog friendly. Food was excellent with great selection of wines. Staff friendly and were extremely helpful. Would definitely visit again the next time we are visiting Grassmere.

Sunday lunch very good. Only comment too much food on plates - not just our party but at other tables too, large amount of wasted food on plates being taken away. Good that smaller plates are offered but describing them as children’s portions was misleading as they were still quite large. Quality of food was good, service on a very busy day was very good.

This was the best meal of our 4 night stay in Grasmere, the food was excellent, I had the filet of beef and my wife the pancetta rolled monk fish, the service very friendly and professional and we drank a really good English wine from Gloucestershire. This is a dog friendly restaurant that did not bother us as the owners new 9 week old puppy was there for us to coo over.

Throughly enjoyed our lunch in The Pheasant Inn, we had the Thai Fish Cakes as a main course and they were delicious. The staff were friendly, the pub was very comfortable with a roaring log fire. Our dog enjoyed the doggie biscuits that were on the bar of which we could have by making a donation to Cumbrian Mountain Rescue which was a well deserved charity.

The food was absolutely delicious! I had the fish pie and it was full of fish ( usually full of potato elsewhere!) really good vegetables too. Would definitely recommend. Great service - thank you I wish we were locals!

Fabulous meal with fabulous service. Lamb shank was beautifully cooked and tasted fantastic. Great cheese board too! Would highly recommend.

Very enjoyable evening with my wife and brother. We were served by Luke who was great fun and very attentive. A star for that young man! Food was good…. We’ll be back

Lovely atmospheric pub for a Sunday Roast, unfortunately they had sold out but the alternatives were very tasty & the service was excellent -5 stars

Friendly service but limited menu that included mostly Sunday roasts, we had anticipated more choice. Food okay but not great - the vegetarian wellington was disappointing. Will come again on another night as the pie does sound good so we weren't totally put off.

Been to the Pheasant three times this year and impressed every time. It has an excellent menu and my biggest dilemma was what to order because there were so many options I could have chosen. Hearty food, service with a smile. Nice atmosphere and a proper pub feel even for a gastro pub. Got the balance right. Well done. I will return and work my way through the menu.

Great food, staff couldn't be better value for money

Another very enjoyable meal cooked to perfection and served by lovely staff a special mention to Annie who looked after us but all the staff are so nice best place to eat in Carlisle we recommend it to everyone will see you all soon
