Xmas dinner bland could of been eating anything.

A sumptuous looking new hotel in the Lakes. A modern vibe not Lakes olde worlde.

Love this place. A real Lakeland Inn located in Elterwater a perfect spot. The weather was far from perfect so lunch was great to escape the torrent. Fine Cumbrian Ales and hearty food. My chicken, ham and leak pie was spot on and the wife enjoyed the soup. The Britannia Inn is a must if in the Langdales!

Apple Pie Bakery is always my port of call when hungry in Ambleside. Pietastic!

Excellent food, far better than "normal pub grub"! Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff. Good range of choices and very reasonably priced.

We would just like to thank the Bistro for a lovely buffet last night, could not have asked for more. Even though we were a small group the spread put on for us was great . Had an eventful interesting visit for a scary night with the plague doctor.

Fantastic meal! Scallops, salt beef, bass veal wine alll just very good. A place you must really try!

The best cafe ever, quality homemade food fresh everyday!

The worst food I have had tasteless. The chicken was tasteless not marinaded tough tasted like packet processed horrible bland! I just can't believe we had to pay good hard earned money for that food. This is obviously why we were one of two tables. Please don't waste your money.....

Had two evening meals Wed, Thurs Sept/Oct 1st food and restraunt excellent staff very friendly and helpful. Will certainly book on our next visit to Ambleside.

After trying local pubs for food we tried Sarah's on a last evening. Amazing food and surroundings staff were more than polite and we were allowed to take our own drink ......Most definitely will be returning if we find ourselves in Conniston........Go on you know you want to give them a try. Great pub in a great location on the riverside at Pooley Bridge Penrith. The Crown In has one of the best beer gardens I have sat in on a lovely summers day with the kids playing in the water. Enjoyed the local Ullswater ale too.

Another great pub in Pooley Bridge. Packed on Saturday afternoon.We sat in the beer garden while the kids played on the slide. Great pint of Jennings bitter and a fine scampi with chunky chips. Spoiled for choice in these parts!

My family and I stayed up the road at the Waterside campsite and went to the Pooley Bridge Inn for food and beers. We were not disappointed and really enjoy their 'funday' that had on Saturday. Would return and recommend.

We ate in The Crown Inn last Sunday evening (26 July) and enjoyed a fab meal.
