La Mezzaluna – CarlisleLovely Atmosphere, staff very friendly, food quality is great .
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessThe food was amazing as always, they had some lovely Christmas drinks available so I tried the chocolate orange hot chocolate and it was just what I needed after a cold morning shopping. It was the first day open after the second lockdown and we couldn’t fault it at all.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessThe food service and the people are absolutely brilliant will be back as soon as we can .
The Royal Oak – CartmelOur meal was lovely we were so full we had to bring our millionaire shortcake home and had it with a cuppa later on.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessLovely place with friendly staff, I took my mam today 3/11 for afternoon tea before lockdown. We were both happy with selection we had and brought the scone, jam and cream home as too full to eat it at the time. It’s such a shame they have to close again for lockdown but hopefully will be up and running again soon.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessOn arrival to The Bakehouse, it looks like a lovely place... was first in the queue to be seated and waited 10 minutes despite having a table booked... once seated waited 30 minutes to be asked for a drink and it’s only because we shouted over... waited a further 15 minutes for the drink to arrive... on the other hand the food was lovely and well presented! The server did knock the drinks off the bill which was good customer service but was the waiting time was still inconvenient.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessThought we’d try Charnley’s for lunch yesterday (Mon 2 November). Service was a little slow as it was very busy (people like us getting out while they can before second lockdown?) but felt safe with friendly and polite staff. Food was gorgeous. Cheese and ham sandwich - ham was in very thick slices. Potato and leek soup - chunky and very tasty. Burger gorgeous with beautiful hand cut twice cooked chips. Much more than a snack - we didn’t feel hungry at tea time.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessExcellent.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWe both enjoyed our roast lunch, on Sunday. It was lovely ,well presented and served by friendly helpful staff. The new refurbishment is spacious and tastefully done ,and in the current “Covid “rules we felt totally safe. Well done to all concerned.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessFood great, staff really helpful. Just lovely. Was very quiet but I guess that’s due to the looming lockdown.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessHaving had a lovely lunch here a few weeks ago we decided to have our evening meal here yesterday. Spotlessly clean restaurant. The waitress was lovely and the service was excellent. We had garlic mushrooms and chilli prawns to start followed by lasagne and sea bass for our mains - our food was really nice. We highly recommend Charnleys. We look forward to returning after lockdown.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessHad a fabulous lunch with a friend. From our arrival until we left the staff were amazing so helpful and friendly. The service was quick, staff checking we were happy with everything. The meal was extremely tasty and of course we finished off with delicious dessert. Thank you Charnleys we will be back.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessThis was our first visit since the Bakehouse had been refurbished. I was blown away by the atmosphere that they have created, it felt like Saturday night in a restaurant in a Manchester or Liverpool, not a Saturday lunchtime in Dalton! The staff were exceptionally polite and very regimental in making sure that the COVID rules and regulations were being adhered to. The food......Well what can I say, absolutely amazing!!!! The pizza's put the pizza expresses of this world to shame. Overall its a 10/10 for me!
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessMe and my sister went here on Friday, we had been here once before for food and enjoyed it so decided to try it again. Although, we were very disappointed with our food and service this time round. When we came in we were quickly greeted by polite staff who took our order for food and drinks. The table we were sat at was tucked in the corner, which we didn’t mind but this made it very difficult to get the staffs attention throughout the meal. The drinks arrived fairly quickly, but unfortunately we had a 50 minute wait and we tried to get the staffs attention to ask but they didn’t seem to acknowledge our table. Once the food came my sister was disappointed again. She ordered the carbonara which had a gorgeous sauce which was sadly ruined by undercooked crunchy onions which she had to pick out. To finish the meal we had to wait yet again for anyone to come over about the bill or desert (which we didn’t end up having). In the end my sister had to break the Covid rules about leaving the table and went up to the desk to pay. The lady didn’t ask or give us opportunity to describe the poor details of our experience.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWent for lunch yesterday, it was beautiful. Not only was the food gorgeous, the atmosphere was lovely and relaxing, just what I needed on my day off.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWe went yesterday for lunch and I can’t fault it. Food was amazing and the waitress particularly was so lovely and friendly (didn’t catch her name but she was an older lady with short blonde cropped hair). Would definitely recommend!
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessTwo of us for a late lunch - easy entrance with a quick temp check and straight to table - Waited several minutes for order to be taken. Menu mostly pizza /pasta with a couple of meat /fish/ salads. Order given but a little confusion over gluten free meals(?) drinks order given with food order. Food arrived quite quickly (the place was very quiet though) Finished meal and waited to give desert order - no one came near for 35 minutes(?) Went to counter (despite signs saying ''stay at table'') ordered dessert. The food here is good if a little pricey for what you get. Service really needs looking at and more training for staff (they are very pleasant though) just not efficient. Restaurant is nice enough, although Spartan due to the C19 precautions. Wine at £14 a bottle not a bad price compared to other places (but it used to be £9 before C19 ?)
