Staff were friendly attentive and welcoming . The restaurant was clean and had a lovely atmosphere. The fish and chips were superb.Thoroughly recommend you try them . We always eat before we go to the Mayflower so we will be booking a table as soon as we book our tickets for the next show
The Quarter Lounge – SouthamptonFour of us had lunch at the Half Moon Inn on a Thursday afternoon in May and we have to say what a very pleasant experience it was. The food was excellent; we all chose something different, so satisfying us all was always going to be a challenge but you managed it. The bar service was good fun, with the landlord who has a great sense of humour. It wasn’t at all busy so we don’t know what it would have been like if it had been, but we can only speak as we find. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good value tasty meal in nice surroundings. The only downside was it’s proximity to the main road, which occasionally was intrusive as we sat in the garden the whole time. Many thanks. Chris

Visiting a venue in shorts during fine 23c weather to be greeted by a Christmas tree upon arrival is surely a winner in anyone's book.

The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonHmmmm Got there at 6- friend sat and wasn’t asked if she wanted a drink. We do arrive late at 615. We get our order taken at 6.45!( the delay that caused the issue). We had not been able to flag a member of staff down - way too many people and the staff could not cope. Food came out at 7.20….. theatre started at 7.30, paid £16 for a burger I ate out of a box cold in ten interval because we didn’t have the heart to kick up a fuss. Waitress was very apologetic and did discount our drinks but other members of staff seemed less concerned dithering and making her job harder. Would not go back- the mayflower village are excellent and know how to get people through fast and in time for the show.
