Went to El Toro for the first time with a couple of friends late Sunday afternoon. wow, we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic and plentiful. No waiting around. A lot of people were getting cocktails which looked great but we stuck to the wine which was very nice and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend the all you can eat tapas menu. Great value for money. All the staff were great. Very friendly and helpful. Will be going back!

Decided to book here after reading a BBC News story about "dine and dash", so it was purely off the back of a chance story. I have to say I'd be dashing back to dine again and again it was that good. We had the special seafood sharer topped with a garlic lobster and were utterly delighted by our meal. In the event we make it back to Scarborough at some future date we'll be booking again. Every meal we saw emerge from the kitchen looked and smelled fantastic. We loved it!

Went for my daughters 16 bday we have some very nice food then the staff came and surprised my daughter by coming out with a cake and sparklers and sing happy bday to her

Sadly the first time we have been disappointed with last night's booking/meal. To be fair I booked online about 20 mins before we went but our table wasn't booked so we had to wait for it to be made up, although it was confirmed online. Our drinks order was taken quite quickly. Our food order wasn't we waited quite a while to order. Although it wasn't as busy as a Friday/Saturday evening when we normally visit our food took nearly an hour to arrive. Food was ok, but we were all so hungry after having to wait so long.

The restaurant/bar was lively and very busy. Nice staff, good service. We had to eat in the bar (5pm) and restaurant was shut off.. too early? A private function was being set up As we were leaving. As. Result we were squashed in with a lot of after work drinkers and it was very noisy!! Food was ok, my lamb kebab was evidently bought-in and so not fresh meat, most likely frozen. The texture was rubbery and it was disappointing. My friend had the katsu chicken which she said was nice

We always come here for special occasions, had a lovely evening, the food and service was as superb as ever, happy to recommend.

Booked a Friday night for 4. Very busy and we waited a long time for food. Chips were very scrappy as if they had been re-heated. Disappointed as the food is normally great. Probably should have complained but don't want to embarras myself or make staff feel awkward. Has put us off going back.

We visited on Thursday evening for my daughter in-laws birthday. We were a table of six which included three gluten free diners and we were very well catered for with the gluten free menu. The food was tasty, hot and plentiful. I had the ribeye steak and it had the most lovely flavour. Infact all six of us enjoyed the food very much. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We all had starters and mains but were too full for dessert, but I did notice the cheeseboard comes with gluten free crackers which I am very impressed with as not many restaurants offer the crackers. We have visited many times as we are local and can say we will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely evening.

What an absolute gem this place is!!! Food is stunning, the staff are so very polite, and priced so reasonable. Can’t recommend this place enough, shall be returning many times!!

Absolutely delicious food that I am still thinking about now, so fresh and tasty and I am looking forward to going back. Thank you Chef and also lovely Chris and Team who were warmly welcoming and made us feel relaxingly looked after.

I stayed at the Craven whilst working in the area a few years ago and remembered the beef Wellington as being really good and told my wife about it so many years later I decided to take her we stayed in the area and booked in for an evening meal. We both had the beef Wellington and I'm pleased to say it was as good as I'd remembered and my wife enjoyed it too I would definitely recommend

We came here Friday after reading all the very good reviews. And we left utterly disappointed. We heard the waiter telling a table the menu had changed and they wanted it to be more authentic Indian as they had changed chef's, but there's noway that a authentic butter chicken tastes like packet chicken in tomato soup. My partners meal was bland too, weve had better tasting Jars from the supermarket. After listening to 3 tables around us, they all had the same opinion. As the old say goes, if it's not broke don't fix it! We've never been before this week so I fear we've missed out on the good stuff!
