I'm going to say it first, you've got to try the chorizo scotch eggs! We came for a meal with my partner and parents early on a Saturday evening. From the moment we stepped through the door had a great warm welcome from John who was our inviting and friendly host for the evening, really attentive service from the whole team. A really nice, cosy dining room that manages to feel both modern as well as your traditional pub atmosphere. The menu is really attractive, offering familiar pub classics which are well cooked with flair and touches that elevate way above your standard pub grub. The highlight for me was the scotch eggs, crispy in the right places with a lovely soft yolk, incredible flavours from that chorizo and paired with a really great chutney means I'll be coming back for more! Thanks everyone, we had a lovely evening.

A second lunchtime visit didn’t disappoint, and this will be a regular spot for lazy lunches with friends. Food is excellent- a small range of options, but clearly focussing on quality and freshness. The staff are great - attentive, friendly, and happy to leave you to take your time. The bonus is that we can take the dog. Fabulous place.

We had an amazing lunch between Christmas & new year at Thai sabai. We had not been for a while because of the pandemic but it is still my favourite! I’ve noticed lots of quick service Thai places opening up in headingley and they don’t have anything on this place. We will be back soon :)

Delicious food and great value as always

Four of us visited for an early bird meal on 29th December 2021. All really enjoyed the food, drinks & service. £80 for 4 starters, mains, drinks & 2 sweets including a tip - fantastic value. Obviously will be back.

First time at Luna Blu for a late lunch with the family. Warm greeting on arrival, tasty tapas, lovey fizz and a couple of cheeky cocktails. Will be back!

Never disappointed in Maxis , great service and food delicious . Good portions

We booked a table for 2nd Jan, we were staying at The Bay so it was convenient for my birthday. The service was good and the food was produced quickly. The food was just ok, nothing special. The chilli was obviously frozen, you could tell by the texture, the fish was also frozen and not fresh, the chips were not the best. I would go again if we were staying at the bay but only because it was convenient.

Christmas Day Lunch 6 course The food was delicious but disappointed there were no sprouts with our main course , love them or hate them, a must for a Christmas lunch. We did not get the canapés or sorbet as stated on the 6 course menu but not too bothered as what we had was plentiful. All in all it was a lovely day and experience, the staff and atmosphere was very good.

Such a lovely pub with really friendly staff.

As a party of 4, we enjoyed New Years Day lunchtime with the Magpie Café. On the whole, the food was very good; the seafood platter was super choice as one of the party had not sampled seafood so it was a great introduction to what else can be enjoyed other than haddock, cod, plaice, etc. The Magpie fishcake was a substantial portion for a starter especially with the mushy peas and although tasty was too big for me to then enjoy fresh cod and chips as a main course. No sweets were sampled as a result. To summarise, good food, good atmosphere, attentive staff and a very pleasurable experience.

I recently visited with my wife for the first time and will definitely be returning. Everything from the excellent service and warm welcome to our delicious meal was perfect, thank you.

Excellent food once again! First time I have tried the new restaurant down new land Ave and it’s not as cramped as Anlaby rd was Try the stifado, 10/10

Went on Thursday 30 December 2 grandparents 1 daughter and one 7 year old and 1 2.5 year old Great food, we had fishpie, fish sandwich, child fish and chips and child pasta all delicious. No salt in childrens' food - many thanks safely spaced, sanitised made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

Environment clean and comfortable. Food good, portions a decent size. Service attentive. Noise level appalling; whoever has decided that shouty recordings of Greek popular music are a bonus should reconsider.

We came here on New Year’s Eve and was made to feel very welcome and the food was lovely.

Superb food just how we wanted it. No cream for me but I didn’t miss out as they adapted the dish. Nothing is too much trouble. Absolutely first class food & the staff to match.
