Lovely food again. We are never disappointed

Amazing place, with fantastic food. I have been twice and will definitely come back again. The Korean BBQ is not only delicious, but it is also a nice way to get out of the routine and experience something new while dining out. Highly recommended !!!

Visited for lunch. Very nice interior and friendly and attentive staff. Food was delicious. We had mains and desserts. Reasonably priced and good portion sizes. Will definitely visit again!

The fish was beautiful and I had a great view outside from where I was sat. Staff were friendly and attentive. Plastic screens were useless and ugly and made the dining experience a little uncomfortable.

Wonderful fresh Dim Sum and all our favourite dishes as always. Having lived in Hong Kong for many years we miss our weekly Yum Cha and thankfully Maxis never disappoints, just too far for us to make it weekly. Best Chinese Food in Yorkshire.

Wow wow wow. We visited on our first night in York, after searching online for something we'd not had before. We ordered the Korean table BBQ and were quickly greeted by Mylo the dog who was wondering around. The food arrives quickly, and as it's cool yourself it's perfect for a relaxed social night. Loved it. The server, who's name I didn't get, was great and attentive throughout. The restaurant is small and cosy, with direct view into the kitchen. The chef came out and had a talk with us and by this point Mylos owner, who I assume was also the owner of the restaurant had placed Mylo into the seat next to my partner, much to her delight. Mylo quickly fell asleep, whilst we nattered and cooked away. For dessert we had Korean shaved ice and a Korean cinnamon pancake. Amazing. We felt very much like we'd been welcomed into a family's home by the end of our night, hidden gem located off a side street and up two flights of stairs. We'll be back next time we're in York! But we'll make it a table for 3 so that Mylo can join us again!!

My Husband and Son ate here on 1st September. I last visited around 20 years ago. It was absolutely superb! The service was faultless. My husband had the Seafood pot to start and said it was the best he had ever had. I had the mussels which were beautiful. I wish we lived closer as would come back every week!

What a stunning location by Byland Abbey. Very atmospheric. Next time we will stay and maybe in the tents in the back. Only had morning coffee but was quite taken with the place. Lovely furniture and vibe there.

Had a really lovely meal at the magpie. The waitress was so nice I wish I knew her name. Super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Food was superb.

Went on a Tuesday night. Service was good but so it should have been as only very quiet. Food was very good but again kitchen staff weren't rushed off their feet. Slightly disappointed that certain beers were shown on drinks menu only for them to not be available and that STP shown on dessert board but also not available - hard to believe given amount of people in place. Room itself was cold which was disappointing with doors wide open even though temperature had dropped outside. Despite these few niggles meal overall was good.

Saturday 28th August had a fantastic meal starter of scolops which melted in your mouth main was lobster surf and turf sharing platter which was outstanding! The safe very attentive & helpful

Great service and amazing food. Will happily give 5 stars.

Fantastic hotel in a beautiful little town. The food was excellent in the Weather Vane. My son really enjoyed the pool and we the spa facilities. One thing that i really picked up on was the friendliness of the staff, very welcoming !

Lovely food, staff very helpful, Mum thoroughly enjoyed her birthday treat. Thank you
