I've been going there for years....the place is cheap and cheerful but the food is great....the chicken jalfrezi is excellent.

went to miahs kitchen and thought the food was fantastic, the lamb is cooked to perfection and is so soft, the decor is really nice, the waiters are very attentive, great value and the portion sizes are very big! you will not leave hungry. highly recommended!!!!

What a disappointing night we had on January 6. A double Birthday celebration for my husband and son was ruined. Our party of 6 of had starters and waited nearly an hour for main courses, I had ordered sole from the special board and was then told they had none left so that was not a good start. When the main course eventually arrived one person did not get hers and the potatoes, salad and vegetables did not arrive. We asked for them twice and the second time we were told they had been brought to the table, they were still sat there waiting to be served and going cold. By this time all the food was cold but we could not get anyone's attention to complain. We wanted to order some more wine but nobody came to ask if we wanted more drinks or if everything was OK. When they came to clear the plates I asked for the bill and also for the manager. Someone claiming to be the manager said he would get us a complimentary bottle of wine and would sort the bill out , this resulted in the veg not being charged for and the wine never arrived. I went to the bar and again asked for the manager a second person said he was the manager, when I said I would not pay the full amount I was told the manager was not there and nobody had the authority to give a reduction.The bill was just under £150 I said I would pay £100 but they would not accept that, when I said we would go without paying they said the police would be called and I would be classed as a thief. Eventually one of the waiters said he would accept the £100 and he would put the difference in, as if ! My Daughter had made a Birthday cake which they brought to us but due to the evening being spoilt this was never cut we just wanted to get out and go home, we had been there about 4 hours

45 minutes drive from my home but my goodness it was worth the trip . A beautiful setting and when you enter the pub its decor is warm and clean ,the fire was lit and we were welcomed by very friendly staff . Our drinks were served and we were shown to our table to look at the menu . We were a party of 10 and it was a special birthday celebration so we had high expectations . From the freshly baked bread to the dessert every course was fab ,every person in the party had a great starter and main course ,not one thing could be faulted ,which in my experience is unusual. My rib eye steak was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious .We were so full but couldn't resist the assiette of desserts which was served with 10 spoons !!! I cannot recommend the Carpenters Arms highly enough , a very special place .

Ignorant, selfish locals hogging the bar. Took ages to get served. Salty soup, tough beef, cold veg, pricey wine. Won't be going again!

Am a regular at Sammys and went after recent refurb - brilliant, take your own booze, good night had by all!

We have had lots of meals here and have never had a bad one yet. The mixed kebab starter is to die for, nearly a meal in itself. The choice is fantastic, always made welcome and good value.

Good food, good service, excellent hand pulled Tetley's. Best in Huddersfield.

We visited your restaurant on ths 2nd jan 2012, for a birthday my boyfriend and i and would like to comment on the waiter called Damian he was wonderful and made our night memorable and fantastic and can't recomend him enough thank you so much.

Best curry in bradford, soft fluffy naans, great service, laid back atmosphere. Recently been renovated and looks great now, the food is much better since it re-opened than before. Would highly recommend. Only negative, they don't serve beer, though they do have a non-alcoholic cobra on the menu. *you can take your own alcohol in if you wish.

I would highly recommend the Amala Thai Restaurant in Wakefield. Every dish was delicious making it difficult to pick a personal favourite. I tried the Prawn and Pork Parcels with dipping sauce as a starter which were spicy but not overpowering, followed by the scallops in a shell which were perfectly cooked preserving the lovely texture and delicate flavour. For the main course the Tilappia in Tamarind Sauce was also delicious, the fish was succulent and moist and the sauce was not overly sweet. I decided to try the dessert wine to finish the meal which smelt divine and tasted of apricot and peach.The restaurant is modern and chic and decorated simply but still encompasses the Thai style. The green and white colour scheme makes for a very relaxing environment. The service is excellent and the pleasant and personable restaurant owners are on hand to explain the contents of the various dishes and make recommendations.I hope to go back soon.

Tried South Indian food for the very first time in Kerala Cafe and its simply awesome. Good quality and tasty food. Tried Masala Dosa and its massive and quite filling. I'll definitely go back
