Wing Wah – HarrogateWe had a meal last night (Wednesday) at Meze having read the reviews on sugarvine.com. We were not disappointed! It was reasonably busy, considering it was midweek, but the service we received was very good. The food even better! I had king prawns flamed in ouzo in a cream sauce to start, followed by kleftiko. The lamb fell away from the bone beautifully! Our bill for two, including a bottle of Chilean Merlot, was £58. We could have had cheaper food, but opted to order what we wanted. We enjoyed it so much we've booked a table for 13 people next month to take our family for my husband's retirement celebration.
Meze Restaurant – BrighouseI had lost my faith in Chips this has now been revived. James and his crew are very friendly and polite. Never rushed, top Quality Stuff.
Duke of York – Halifaxhad a great night last Saturday staff really lovely apart from scruffy arrogant barman .had a super meal home made good food will go again have to find out when he is off.
The Bottomleys Arms – HalifaxMy boyfriend and I visited Chaophraya after reading all the great reviews this place has had and we certainly weren't disappointed! There was a great buzz about the place and although it was busy, service was swift and it didn't feel overcrowded. The food was wonderful - the prawns were huge and everything tasted so fresh and authentic. I thought I didn't really like Thai food until coming here, now I realise that I've just been going to the wrong places! An added bonus is the decor which is tasteful and befitting of a Thai restaurant without being tacky. Overall a fantastic place to eat whether with friends, your partner or the whole family and great value too!
Chaophraya – Leeds City CentreAn evening at Doctor Browns led to a huge surprise, they actually do food, and great food at that, all home cooked and all meals under £7. Portions were massive too. People have gotta try it.
Doctor Browns – MiddlesbroughDisappointing when i booked i asked for directions surely implying it was our first visit - they should have told us it was byo wine and they didn't accept plastic.so we were totally unprepared- had to go to off licence and pool our cash together. food servings were quite small. the cost of the vegetarian food was over priced £10.50 for a main course of a small dish of beans in a tomato sauce with onion and a few mushrooms. how can they justify that when some of the meat dishes were the same price? wont reccommend or return
Aya Sophia Greek & Mediterranean Cuisine – Hebden BridgeSuperb Food set in an informal cosy atmosphere. The owners are younger than you would expect but they certainly know what they are doing! Well worth a drive.
Rose and Crown – YorkI've been a curry fan for the last 20 years! In my humble opinion The Sweet Centre is the ultimate in taste and authenticity, quite honestly nothing comes close. So many Asian restaurants purport to offer 'the real deal', but The Sweet Centre actually does. Don't waste any more time trying to find the best Asian cuisine, visit The Sweet Centre. The staff are fantastic and will bring cutlery and open wine bottles if required, nothing is too much trouble. My favourite dishes are the fish curries and the tarka dahl is to die for, a wonderful, amazing tasting dish and should not be missed. It's no mess, no fuss, just an epicurean delight!
Sweet Centre Restaurant – BradfordSat outside on a very windy Sunday lunchtime and had excellent cappuccino - large cup, nice froth, good value. Then we saw the cakes and just had to have something - chocolate muffin, beautifully presented and fruits of the forest cheesecake - real cheesecake that melted in the mouth - a bit pricey but well worth it! The food being served to others looked very appetising - Go and try it!!!
Cuckoos Coffee and Bagel Bar – HullThis place is appalling please avoid it at all costs. The fish and chips were the worst I've had anywhere ever! The fish was just slightly bigger than a goldfish that had then been fried in a big vat of rancid oil before being laid on top of some barely cooked chips. The mushy peas had been minted presumably to hide whatever dubious taste they originally had. The staff are unfriendly and unhelpful and didn't offer any explanation or compensation for the culinary treat they'd just whipped up. There is also a big sign outside though that says 'enjoy the view'...this should be amended to 'enjoy the view...as the food is terrible'.
Restaurant 55 – ScarboroughRed Chilli is definitely the place for you if you enjoy great Chinese food. We've been twice and each time the food has been very good, although our only complaint is that nothing on the menu is explained which, given some of the unusual names for many of the dishes, would have helped. This is not your usual Chow Mein or Sweet and Sour type of place! That said, the service is good (a bit like a military operation) and you get what you pay for with the food. Ok, it's not cheap but the dishes are varied and good - the set menus are particularly good as you get such a variety of dishes and they tend to be a bit easier on the wallet overall.
Red Chilli – Leeds City CentreWe went with friends this Saturday night and we had heard about Bibis my partner had been before when it was at Greek Street i think and he loved it. We called to book a table and was told no need so we arrived and had to wait 2 hours for a table we would of preferred to book. We had cocktails and champagne had a lovely evening but the down side is that when we got to our table there were so many dishes to choose from and we were rushed into picking our food, however no fault with the food each dish was tasty. I would return but not on a weekend I feel like Bibis is commercialised now and its not all about the food. Never the less we enjoyed the evening and for 4 people we spent around £300.
Bibis Italianissimo – Leeds City Centrea very clean place the food was fantastic 2 starters, 2 main meals and a couple of beers for less than £40 great value
Tandoor Mahal Restaurant – HullDidn't actually get to eat here. After waiting 1hr for our food to arrive we decided to leave. You are not able to book for this restaurant and we were made to feel that we should have been grateful for even being given a table. If you are not a local don't expect good service.
Les Caveaux – HolmfirthThe best curry house in Leeds. Very good veggie food and meat dishes. Great pint of Tetley's from the Queen pub next door.
Corner Cafe – Leeds City CentreGorgeous pizzas and parmos here - order takeaway every couple of weeks.
Pizza Kingdom – MiddlesbroughI can't help but rave about it! Of the 3 restaurants i prefer this one as the atmosphere is great due to it always being busy. The food is beautiful, I could quite happily work my way through the menu. The staff are attentive and efficient which always helps. Not the cheapest but it is great value for money.
