New Sunrise Restaurant – BirkenheadWent to the Gulshan on Friday 20th March2009, waited a long time for the starters, they were cold when they arrived. Service was awful, the food was ok, but only just. This was our 1st and last visit to the Gulshan.
Gulshan – AigburthNever been because menu appalling for vegetarians.
Almond Bar and Restaurant – West DerbyI had my hen party at Blundell Street on the 14th March and I just wanted to say what an absolute wonderful time we all had! The food is beautifully presented and tastes just as good. The atmosphere is so relaxed, enjoyable and will definitely be going back very soon. What a great night from the staff to the food to the entertainment! Just brilliant Thank you!!!!
Blundell Street Supper Club – Liverpool City CentreDined in here on a Tuesday night. The best thing about this restaurant is the extensive choice on the menu. The tables are large and circular, wide open space. I know sometimes this works but in here - with the usual Chinese restaurant 200 watt bright lighting - it just feels awful, less intimate than a school canteen. There are plenty of staff but they are curt and miserable. Waited a long while for both starter and main. When my main was served (a really good beef dish) it was on a hot platter. A random waiter appeared without speaking, sizzled up the food in the middle of the table, then simply walked away, leaving me to stand, lean over the huge table and grab the hot platter. Worse than that, he'd allowed the spray from the sizzle to cover a vegetarian dish of my friend. The bill was expensive, as expected of a get-them-in get-them-out Chinese. Only went because Yuet Ben was closed.
Mei Mei – Liverpool City CentreMy girlfriend and I went to the wheatsheaf after stopping and asking a local man where was a good place for a Sunday roast. Although fully booked, the staff were friendly and told us they could accommodate us in an hour and were also helpful when it came to sorting out my vegetarian girlfriend. The food was lovely, we had a delicious home made soup, a roast and a homemade apple and blackcurrant pie which was superb. The converted cowshed makes a great place to eat, with a warm friendly atmosphere, and the meal was delicious high quality fare, which, at £13.95 for 3 courses was great value. We're definitely going again!!
The Wheatsheaf Inn and Cowshed Restaurant – HeswallAbsolutely love Moon & Pea, Been on numerous occasions for breakfast and lunch, such a relaxed atmosphere, quirky books and pictures on the wall, great music and some lovely comfy couches to relax with coffee, or a pimped up hot chocolate!! The only downfall is it gets quite busy and can be cramped and sometimes struggle for a seat as nobody wants to leave!!! Food is great and staff are so friendly and approachable, Owners are 2 lovely girls - 1 with moon head and 1 with pea head - hence the name!!! Truly recommend this place!!!! Also My Lovely auntie Lily owns Lark Lane newsagents - so pop in there for your newspapers and receive a lovely warm welcome! x
The Moon and Pea – AigburthKarma.....Probably the best curry in the world If Carlsberg done Curries.........it would be like Karma
Karma – West KirbyThis has to be one of the worse eating places I have ever been in. Grubby tables, bad table service, and food absolutely awful, so bad I wouldn't give it to the dog, over an hour wait to get food, no heating on etc etc. In short never again, EVER!
Ying Wah Restaurant – WooltonI went to this restaurant for my mothers birthday. The food was very tasty and the staff took very good care of us. My mother enjoyed herself and we will definitely be going back.
A Passage To India – Liverpool City CentreHad a superb meal last night at the Monro. Well cooked with good flavours and great value for money ( £30 each including wine). Its a noisy venue with lots of atmosphere in an interesting part of town and whilst its not flash inside they are serving very good, simple food.
The Monro – Liverpool City CentreWe'll certainly be back as we value good food, well prepared & attractively presented.
Marsh Cat Restaurant – HeswallMe and 2 friends enjoyed a 3 course meal at the new Almond restaurant on Tuesday. I had a black pudding starter which was very well presented and tasted great, followed by chicken breast with rosti and wild mushrooms. This was beautiful and the dish looked fab. 2 courses was enough for me, but i had to try the grilled amoretto pineapple with almond ice cream...wow!!!
Almond Bar and Restaurant – West DerbyWe have been visiting this restaurant since it opened in Dec 2006 and have found the food and service to be consistently very good, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! Mark & Jennifer.
Blue Mango Restaurant – PrescotWent for the first time last night and it will NOT be the last. Superb food and great atmosphere. The entertainment was amazing and really helped the experience. A young lady on the piano who sounded just like Alishia Keys. I have the black pudding, new potato, and cheruzio (I have spelt that wrong I know) which was devine. My main was an excellent chicken dish which I will recommend to all. Many thanks for an excellent meal and dining experience. John.
Jalons – WavertreeReally enjoyed this place, looks great and the food was excellent. Will definitely be going again.
Maranto’s Restaurant – AigburthExcellent food, great value for money, Anna & Enzo have created a lovely atmosphere and cant be more welcoming. Highly recommend the Pera Fagottini or Lobster Ravioli - delicious!
Enzo’s Piazza Italia – MoretonWanted something different and after reading recommendations on Sugarvine went there with my husband last night, we had the Mezedes Greek banquet for 2 which was absolutely fabulous, well worth the money and would definitely have again. This is a small place but so inviting, couldn't ask for better service and even little added extras in the ladies toilets all goes along way to making this a special place to revisit!
