Went last night and ordered the fillet steak rare for myself and wife, it arrived well done so was sent back. Our fresh steaks were brought with an apology from the chef and a glass of wine. The meal was very good and the service friendly. Again the only criticism is they cram to many tables in.

we had a wonderful Sunday lunch here just before Christmas. We were a large party so had to find somewhere that could cater for us all at once, we found the ideal place in the Barbacoa. The carvery that is served upstairs in a spacious room with a lovely relaxed atmosphere was fantastic. The cooking was amazing and the choice of meat and veg was more than enough for even the fussiest of eaters! The quality was far greater than any of the mass produced national chain carveries everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was great not at all intrusive but visible and available when needed. I am always nervous of taking a large party somewhere I would like to thank the Barbacoa for making me look really good!

Just returned from this great restaurant, where we've eaten before. Yet again, an excellent freshly prepared meal. We had a bowl of olives to start, which were very fresh and made with garlic and onion. For our main course we had 6 tapas between 2 of us. They were made in the kitchen next to the dining area, so we could see and hear them being freshly prepared. I especially enjoyed the sardines, which were whole and served simply with salad. Pedro, the owner, is very friendly and genuinely aims to please. Highly recommended.

Have tried many Indians in and around Liverpool, i have found that the Red Fort is by far the best. Menu choice is fantastic; service is great and most important the quality of food is outstanding. to start go for poppadoms with the selection of pickles lime pickle is great, I couldn’t recommend a main as there’s far to many to choose from. I enjoyed the chef’s specials. And also the chicken chat was great. if you want an Indian then this is the place to go 10/10

Superb local restaurant - We are curry connoisseurs and have eaten in most Liverpool curry houses, preferring this (and Mayur, Duke Street). However, Light of Bengal all round for food, price, friendliness, comfort and service is definitely at the top of our list. We recommend to you the Begal Chef's Special - one of the most expensive meals the restaurant offers (around £8.95) but absolutely thoroughly worth it and you won't be disappointed! The Light of Bengal is only a straight bus route from town on the 86 or 82 route (up Park Road on to Aigburth Road). You can get off the bus right opposite the restaurant. Unless you are after spending top dollar (v. expensive!) at Mayur, take the time and make the effort to go to The Light of Bengal and eat like kings for half the price! xx

Wonderful - delicious Lebanese cuisine, we've been enjoying George's food since 1994, freshly prepared every time we visit!

This is our second year on the run we have had our Works Xmas Lunch at Othello's, we are in the Finance area of a large retail company based in Speke, 30-40 people went this year we would highly recommend Othello's as their hospitality and food are second to none. Lunch time opening for large parties is a great idea.

Great food, service, ambience and price, this is a fantastic restaurant which on our visit could not be faulted. We visited with our two children between Christmas and New Year without booking and prepared for a bit of a wait. Although the place was heaving they moved a few tables around and fitted us in with a friendly efficiency. We will definitely be going back soon.

I have eaten here with my Husband on many occasions and we love it. The food is so tasty and the chicken chaat starter is amazing. The staff are really friendly and the fact that you have to bring your own alcohol is great too!

great carvery on new years eve but starters+puds let the side down a little however staff were very friendly +professional so i fully intend to make a midweek return visit.

The owners here were so lovely and attentive, we had a really nice meal. The pizza was excellent and the wine very good! Recommended!

Visited Zizzi this evening after going whilst in London recently (and receiving a £10 off voucher for January). It is well worth a visit. Lovely ambience, wonderful food and very helpful staff. Even though it's part of a chain it doesn't feel like it, we're already looking forward to our next visit.

Mamma Mia is one of my favourite restaurants. Not once have i had a bad meal here and we eat here most weeks. The food is always good, excellent when Mario is in the kitchen. I love the service and the fact that it is the owners son who is waiting on. It really feels like an Italian family restaurant experience. The wine is excellent, especially the Cannonau (which is hard to come by in other restaurants). All in all Mamma Mia's is a wonderful experience and highly recommended. Mario's steak cannot be surpassed!

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. A real gem of a restaurant. I have been amany time and each time i have been very impressed.

Fantastic restaurant, easily better than that over-trumped one next door. Freshly cooked food, excellent papadoms and chutneys every time, cheap wine by the glass and free water, friendly staff, and a civilised, down to earth atmosphere. Beware of large starters which fill you up! Pub over the road is okay for a quiet pint after too. Parking usually okay right outside or on the side street.

The food is excellent, the service exemplary and words on their own cannot describe how beautiful the young Chinese female receptionist at the front desk is. Wow!!!!!!!!
