An excellent experience! Food was better than I expected - delightful sushi, perfect fillet steak, dessert was out of this world. Fantastic atmosphere and a must for anyone who loves japanese cooking.

Myself and my husband to be stumbled over the place by accident on Saturday afternoon. We decided to go in for some tapas. We where seated by the kitchen door when it was not busy and there where better tables to offer. We ordered 2 galsses of white wine and where served red. We finally got the food and the order was wrong. The staff had a disagreement in front of us. The garlic bread finally arrived and was green most off putting. There was not one dish that you could say was nice. Then the bill came and was gob smacked at the price. Over five pounds for a glass of wine! Will never visit again. Back to La Tasca in the future !

The food was very good - we went on a Saturday (party of four) having heard some great reviews. I didn't think the food was particularly pricey as it worked out at about £60 per person and we had starters, main course, dessert, bottle of wine and a couple of glasses of wine. The service was also very good, informed and attentive - no major problems here. However my experience wasn't altogether what I had expected having read all the reviews of this restaurant on sugarvine.com First problem was the Menus - they were not very straight-forward and we couldn't easily pick out where we were supposed to order from - they needed explaining to us (as well as too the couple next to us) - never mined not a problem - so-long as the foods good, right? We'd decided on starters from the Specials Menu to fine out that we'd been given the wrong Specials Menu - we had to make our selections again - granted not a major incident. Then we were told that as the restaurant had been 'very busy' that evening a number of the starters and main courses had been sold out - again not a major problem. The waiter recommended a wine (as an alternative to the Pino Grigio - which was sold out) when the alternative came it was nothing like what we'd wanted - never mind we'll make the best of it we thought. The food came and it was very good and agreed, probably the best in Liverpool but be aware - you don't get an awful lot for your money - that's okay the quality was there we thought. So after a few jokes about still being hungry, having to fill up on some toast when we got home and wondering if we'd accidentally ordered of the childrens menu we ploughed on to the desserts. Once again very nice but not a lot for your money - by this time we were all highly assumed by the quantity of food provided and in our hysterics we were joined by the couple sitting next to us, who had similar thoughts to our own (they had been brave enough to even mention the volume of food (or lack of it) to the waiter!! Mon dieu!! In summary the food is great and the surroundings loverly - would I go back again? No. On balance and considering all the above I'd get more enjoyment from visiting a cheaper restaurant (with arguably less premium branded food). Maybe be it's because I'm uncouth and lack real taste or class? Or maybe it's because I know what I like and I've got more sense than money?

We couldn't get a table at the 'normal' eating times on a saturday night so were booked in at 6. We weren't the only ones there, a large party and at least 3 other couples which shows the popularity of the place. The decor was modern and fresh but created an intimate atmosphere with a dining layout on different levels and a mixture of booths and tables. The food was fantastic! My partner had the ribs to start and they were the cleanest looking ribs after he finished! I had a very generous piece of Tuna for my main that I couldn't finish. Neither of us had space to try the puddings. To put it simply, we will be going back.

We have just returned from Piazza Italia and can not fault it in any way the food was excellent, We chose the 3 course menu for £12.90 which was great value for money even my 9 year old daughter (who is a very fussy eater) really enjoyed her meal. The restaurant has a lovely family run atmosphere and the staff are welcoming and friendly. My partner happened to mention how he liked the unusual glass his beer was served in and was brought a glass for him to take home at the end of meal! All in all we would definitely give this restaurant 10 out of 10 and will be visiting again soon.

Four of us went for a meal last night, I’d booked the table on Wednesday yet when we arrived they had no recollection of my reservation, although after a few minutes they found a table for us. The food did not disappoint! The service however was poor, we had the plates from our starter in front of us for nearly an hour before they were taken away without any apology, luckily we were busy chatting. Think they are having teething problems but I would return again as the food was the best in the city

One of the best Indians in Liverpool. I enjoyed my meal but it was not as hot as I expected! I picked the meal as it had two chillis next to it (the most in Mayur) as I like hot indian food but it was not as hot as I would have liked it. Can not fault the service or decor in the place, it was fantastic. They could probably do with mixing the menu up a bit for example my girlfriend would have liked chicken jalfrezi but on the menu it only came with lamb (they probably would have been happy to change it for us though if we had asked - who knows?). All in all it was a good meal but it was by no means the best Indian i've ever had.

My family and i have regularly dined in Que Pasa over the last year or so.With the exception of a few minor hiccups,we were pretty pleased with the overall experience. However,on the last 2-3 visits,we were shocked by the decline in the quality of the service, and the overall ambiance and cleanliness of the restaurant. It is disappointing as the quality of the food is of a high standard, and it is clear that a great deal of time and effort has went into every dish.Unfortunately, like so many restaurants on the Lark Lane strip,Que Pasa feels that it would benefit more from a pub atmosphere.Upon entering the "restaurant",one cannot help but be overwhelmed by the congregation of people at the door. And although the smoking ban has helped to alleviate ones sense of claustrophobia, the scramble to be noticed would deter anyone from entering.

I was a regular customer up until December 2005 when my husband and I booked a table on New Year's Eve for 9pm but weren't served our main meals until 11.30pm! The service was appalling and this was echoed by other customers in the restaurant who ended up leaving. We arranged to meet some friends just before midnight and so didn't have enough time to eat the meals and ended up taking them away and missing dessert. It was obvious that through sheer greed, too many customers had been booked in but not enough staff had been rostered for duty. We have dined in other restaurants on New Year's Eve and have received much more efficient service. There's no doubting that the food is excellent but I hope they have improved their customer service.

The Egg Café has a mega relaxed atmo in unpretentious surrounds and has a long history of plenty of vegan vegetarian options. There are some simple things about The Egg that will always make it popular:- * Long open hours 7 days a week * A menu that has the offerings for vegan vegetarians clearly labelled - no wasting time asking what is and what isn’t vegan if that is your eating persuasion * Central location Lacto and ovo veggies are also catered for. I did a quick count and I reckon there is approx 30 food items on the menu board. Approx 17 of these appears to be vegan veggie friendly. Mega value for money - big portions at very reasonable prices (e.g. a fiver for a main course, a couple of quid for a bowl of soup). I personally can’t recommend the set menu; it’s remarkable value for money but it’s just too much to eat and could easily feed 2 people. I had a go at it once and afterwards I was so full I thought I was about to explode - never again. If you like to eat huge then the set menu is for you. The Egg is located close to both Central and Lime St stations for any visitors to the city. Compared with the Green Fish Cafe (just round the corner) The Egg attracts a crowd that is generally younger and a bit more alternative and with a bigger percentage of students. The Egg has expanded and now has extra seating upstairs. Take your pick from the mix of long communal type tables or the smaller tables for 4 that The Egg has always offered. Suggested improvements:- I'd personally prefer if they didn't use the microwave to heat some of the food. Overall:- The Egg is something of a vegetarian icon in Liverpool. If you are in central Liverpool the long opening hours of this café are just superb. The menu content and labelling make it a clear statement that if you are a vegan veggie then you are more than welcome at The Egg.

We were informed that there was and never has been a childrens or 'Little Gringos' menu and there was no possibility of a smaller sized portion for our 9 year old. This was disappointing and in fact we thought the starters were generous but the main course portion sizes were small for the price so we could have been advised on a suitable combination. No drinks service was forthcoming so we had to fetch our own from the bar. Also after making a choice from the tequila menu we were told they only had 2 types in, one of which wasn't on the menu. However the food itself was lovely and the ambiance great even on a Monday night. We had a nice time for a birthday meal but felt that there could be more flexibility for kids/lighter eaters.
