Lalqila Restaurant

I'd heard good reports about this restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. The staff were extremely attentive and helped with my menu selection. I plumbed for the chicken Sharisha which was amazing and very unusual as it had mustard and mint in. Talking to the manager he explained the dish was a creation of the chef and that he had a few others up his sleeve. I would recommend this place to anyone, give it a go!

Lalqila Restaurant – Bootle
Siam Garden

Enjoyed the Thai cuisine, and overall a very good experience.

Siam Garden – Wavertree
Linos Restaurant

Its wonderful : a real gem. Don't east anything for the day beforehand, though : the portions are generous. The service is really quite special here - perfectly efficient without being fawning.

Linos Restaurant – Hoylake
Ying Wah Restaurant

kev buffel was obsessed with this place!!!! The Ying Wah Laa!!

Ying Wah Restaurant – Woolton
Baa Bar

the baa bar s just brilliant!!!the food and drinks are sooo cheap!

Baa Bar – Liverpool City Centre
Madhari Indian Restaurant

a little gem!

Madhari Indian Restaurant – Mossley Hill
Chung Ku

I was very impressed by this restaurant. It is an ultra modern contemporary building, yet this unusual choice of building has been successfully blended with traditional Chinese themes via strategically placed statues, pieces of artwork and furniture. The view through the full length glass wall of the river Mersey is magnificent. The lights from the Wirral peninsula are particularly attractive of an evening. The food and drink was of a high quality. The staff are reserved yet friendly, the best combination I feel. A memorable time was had by all.

Cloisters Dining Room

At lunch time it where Ladies who Lunch go to! And no wonder it is well worth a visit, with very good food and pleasant staff; it has interesting decor with stained glass.

Knightsbridge Restaurant – Southport
Jug & Bottle

Really impressed, The Garlic bread, Olives, and Paella were among the best. Generous sized portions, good variety, good Rioja. The service was excellent, and that really made the night.

Jug and Bottle – Heswall
Dr Duncans

Dr Duncans is a wonderful breath of fresh air with regards to pub food. It does not deliver the standard "pub grub" but offers an extensive range of food from basic Italian ciabattas to Kangaroo steaks! Enough to satisfy every pallete and pocket. The service is excellent, the staff are incredably helpful and friendly and Thomas Rockcliffe the chef is a true wonder in the kitchen. Two big thumbs up!!!!!

Zorbas

Outstanding quality of food at an inexpensive price. Real authentic homecooked taste to each dish I have tried. The meatballs especially are outsanding.

Zorbas – Liverpool City Centre
Tai Pan Restaurant

A wonderful Chinese experience, so much so that you could believe you were in China! Perhaps a majority of the diners were seemingly chinese. the meal was very good, but let down by the chinese pudding. But don't let that put you off, everything else was first rate.

Tai Pan Restaurant – Liverpool City Centre
Est Est Est

Underneath the arches! The brick structure of Albert Dock gives this restaurant a wonderful ambiance, amtched by the food and particularly, the service. Only the pricey car parking spoilt the visit, but that is not the fault of Est Est Est!

Gusto – Liverpool City Centre
Britannia Inn Brewers Fayre

Always dependable, if a little predictable, but that means the food is Never poor! And great views over the Mersey. Well worth a visit, especially with a mixed age range party.

Britannia Inn – Liverpool City Centre
Linos Restaurant

Been a customer for 17 years, one of the finest best kept secrets in the North West. Chef Patron Enrico (son of Lino) provides excellent food and the service is second to none.

Linos Restaurant – Hoylake
Jade Garden

As a reguale customer for many years, the Jade Garden provides in my opinion possibly the finest Chinese cuisine in the area.

Jade Garden – Hoylake
Princess Garden Restaurant

This is an excellent Chinese Restaurant which does English food very well. Their sauces are excellent. Their speciality is the fish and the seafood which are really outstanding. My favourite is Dover Sole which is cooked fresh and filleted at the table. The selection of champagnes is excellent too. The wine list is constantly being improved. Ian Harris

China Garden – Aintree
Ma Bo Restaurant

Sited in a row of perhaps 9 other Chinese restaurants close to the impressive archway marking Liverpool? Chinatown gateway, Ma Bo is immediately recognisable by its uncompromising ordinariness. No shiny jade tiles here, no oriental lanterns, no beckoning exotic bamboo, and certainly no menu outside, Ma Bo gives no quarter to oriental Anglicism. From the outside Ma Bo looks just like the terraced house it once was, and largely still is, except for the half dozen upside down wind dried ducks gawping hopelessly from the front room window at the pavement below. Steam billows from the front door, down some small steps and onto the street. Inside it? a 1950? front room with tables, the room was probably last decorated by Ken Hom? grandfather. Linoleum and prototype Marley tiles cover the floor; the tables are covered with a very practical if not aesthetically pleasing oilcloth. The chairs, all 31 of them, crowd around the 8 tables like runner ducks at a Beijing bus stop. Interior décor reflects pre Chairman Mao minimalism; a wall calendar of indeterminate period or origin is the only belligerent stab at opulence. Ma Bo is family run, at last count by at least 5 living generations of the same family, from age 5 to approximately 105, and well represented in between. Service is a unique but utterly charming blend of near brusque surliness, punctuated by moments of near bewildering wide smiling friendliness. If you only ever visit one Chinese restaurant in Liverpool make it Ma Bo, not necessarily for the décor or the service, as fascinating as that may be, but for the food, its outstanding. Notable dishes are the chilli and salt squid, the fish ball stew, the pork Char Sui and just about anything they do with a duck. The menu is relatively small, and thankfully on the whole free of Cino Anglo staples. For considerably less than £20 two people can eat dishes at Ma Bo that: (a) are not available next door and (b) if they were would be at least double the price. Don? miss it.
