Fantastic new large restaurant in the center of Wigan. Beautiful decor and an extensive menu. The quality of food matched the brilliant service. I'll definitely be going back soon and highly recommend the place.

Simply Thai – WiganBout 16 of us went for lunch on Friday. 2 tables. We were seated no problem but as we were 3 groups of 2 Chinese couples came in after us. They were all served and food in front of them before our waitress came back to take our food and drink orders....That said, when it did all arrive the 2 starters and mains all round were gorgeous...Well worth the 9 pound per head, however our friends on the other table had a weird old time. The waitress kept bring out some kind of bread nobody ordered. (3 times out and asking and being forceful saying someone ordered it) On checking at the end their bill was 45 quid over what it should have been so they obviously mentioned it....Not happy staff. Went into kitchen and stayed there ???? In the end my friends decided to pat exactly what they owed and walked out. The staff popped back in and just stared at them...How rude....So all in all, half of us would go back but the other half would certainly not....Bizarre....and a shame coz the food was lovely
Red Chilli – Manchester City CentreWent last night for a mid week treat as we had seen it as it was being built and thought it looked quite nice. It was absolutely lovely - the food was extremely flavoursome and the menu has a huge choice of different curries and flavours that you wouldn't see in bog standard, including dishes with sea bass,m monkfish, salmon, pheasant and venison! Spoilt for choice. The flavours were lovely, even the raita that came with the poppadoms hd a unique flavour and the marinated meat was tender, melt in the mouth! We all had different main dishes, which all had individual styles, flavours and appearances. The staff were very friendly and attentive, offered us a complimentary drink at the end and also gave the two ladies a rose each! All in all, a lovely setting with exceptional food. By far one of best curries we have had in a long time. Would recommend without a doubt, and hope that they make a success of it - so everyone get down there!
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – AltrinchamThis was one of the worst dining experiences we have had EVER. Yes, the restaurant looks lovely and a really mouthwatering menu but all of that means nothing if the service is slow and surly. Our pizza's took almost 45 mins to arrive (the restaurant was almost empty). When they did arrive the pizzas were undercooked and mediocre. A couple of our party opted for the non dairy cheese on their pizzas and while I admire a pizza establishment who can offer a non dairy alternative - the 'cheese' was inedible and had an odd bodily odour. Our waiter was mono-syllabic and hid from us when we tried to get his attention - I finally had to go to him in order to find out if our pizzas were coming or not. Did we catch Dough on a bad day? perhaps, though walking back to the car we realised how empty it was compared to other eateries in the area - obviously the locals knew something we didn't.
Dough Pizza Kitchen – Northern QuarterHi - I was on a weekend break in Manchester & we dined in Mr Toms on Saturday evening about 6:30. The young lady serving us - the shorter of the two on the floor (an attractive young lady with glasses who also seems to have had charge of seating) was exceptionally good. She made the entire evening a huge pleasure. Whoever hired her deserves a bonus! Eoin
Mr Thomas’s Chop House – Manchester City CentreWe make a point of visiting the Old Wellington for lunch (usually one of their glorious pies) whenever we spend the day in Manchester. The food is lovely, good British comfort food for the most part, they have a good choice of real ale which keeps my partner happy and the staff are great. get a seat on the top floor if possible - right under the open beamed ceiling with views to the cathedral through the leaded windows - perfect!
The Old Wellington – Manchester City Centrei would recommend this to every1 it is so delicious and fresh very pleased with what i get everytime i order i will be recommending it to many of my friends always satisfied with what i get very pleased with customer service i get aswell lovely staff
T Spoon – HarpurheyWe went for the evening meal deal which was reasonable but we were served small portions. The dishes were dry too not enough sauce to eat with the rice. A little bit disappointed due to having a lovely meal at Swadesh in Bowden.
Swadesh – Manchester City CentreWe had dinner there on the 25/02/11 it was without doubt one of the best meals i have had in a long time for atmosphere was fantastic the food out of this world the best Kleftiko i have eaten !!!Paul S.
Rozafa Taverna – StockportTERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - we will not be going back! Food was great but we were asked ot leave our table at 9pm, escorted to a seated area in the bar upstairs and left for an hour with no drinks despite asking 5 different people for drinks menus, asking to ordder, asking where our drinks were many times. When they did eventually arrive we were asked to pay there and then as they were 'extremely busy' (they didn't look busy at all). We expressed our dissatisfaction and asked for the bill to be reduced, the manager came over and strated arguing with us, implying we were lying - it was a truly shocking way to treat customers.
Vermillion – MostonWould not go to this restaurant again ,we went on a wed night and waited 45 mins for our starter. My friend had one course and was charged for two we were charged 10 service charge but did not get any service other than to bring the meal and take the order.I spoke to them and they took off two pounds for not having a starter i pointed out that a lot of people do not want two courses.and cannot eat a big meal.they offed no alternative and sill charged me so will not be going again
Bistro West 156 – DidsburyVery excited to find a proper South Indian restaurant here in Manchester with varieties of Dosa´s,Idly,Chicken and mutton curries. I have visited with my friends and really nice authentic South Indian food. The foods are delicious and really good value for money. Will come back again.
DosaXpress – DidsburyI have passed this establishment many times and decided yesterday that I'd try Ichiban out with a few friends, Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly smile, the overall atmosphere on arrival was relaxed and pleasant. The staff were very polite and helpful with recommendations on the menu. There is adequate choice on the menu to cater for all taste. We chose a selection of starters and main courses to share so we were able to sample a bit of everything. We were spoilt for choice so we asked the manager for some recommendations. He chose fillet steak rolls in black pepper sauce, salt & pepper squid and lamb ribs in salt & pepper. (these ribs were not on the menu but the manager made a specially for our party) . The starters were excellent especially the salt & pepper lamb ribs they did not fail to impress. The lamb ribs were tender as were the fillet steak rolls. These are definitely starters that I would recommend to everyone who is to eat here. For main courses we were recommended the lamb ramen in a Shanghai chicken stock, Malaysian spicy fried rice and chicken and prawn pad Thai. The lamb in the ramen was perfected marinated and succulent tender which melted in the mouth. The Malaysian fried rice was adequately spiced not too hot and not too mild and the pad thai was full of flavour. Again our party was extremely impressed with the recommendations made by the manager and they did not disappoint. Presentation of the dishes was simple and not OTT. I strongly recommend Ichiban for everyone and compliments to the chef!
Ichiban Noodle Rice and Grill – Rusholmehad a really good meal last time we visited this restaurant.food excellent. back there again this week.
Due Amici – WorsleyI ordered a beef dish from the menu. I ate most of my vegetables before starting on the meat, as is a habit of mine. I choked down two pieces of unpalatable, inedible beef in a valiant effort to enjoy my meal but, when I found it slithering its way back up my gullet, I realised I wouldn't be able to force down anymore and asked that my dish be changed to chicken. Cue the chef and her absolutely appalling attitude informing me that I had eaten almost 'the entire dish' and as a result she would only be happy 'to put some chicken on top'. On top of a beef dish?! REALLY?! Actually no, that was inaccurate, as there was clearly an almost full bowl of food in her hand which she then slammed onto the side next to her, and it was not going to happen because, as a chef and kitchen manager myself, there was no way I was being fobbed off simply because this creature was unable to cook beef without turning it into rubber. When she realised I wouldn't be fobbed off this very angry woman then muttered some epithets and stormed off into the kitchen, leaving me in no doubt that at Fuzion, it doesn't matter if your food is inedibly awful, the chef expects you to eat it anyway and will make you feel as small as she possibly can before she will replace it with something that doesn't make you retch as you swallow. I've eaten at Fuzion for several years and until today have never had a bad word to say about the place. The food and service have always been impeccable and this was the first time I have ever had to return a dish. This horrendous harpy has ensured that I'll think twice before eating here again and certainly won't be recommending it to my friends.
Fuzion Noodle Bar – FallowfieldA great experience at Shiraz! Lovely staff & interior design. The ceiling was beautifully done. Food = sooo tasty. Can't remember their names but the mince meatball starter was yummy. Excellent sauce. Was warned about plum stones but none present. Aubergine & garlic dip has an amazing taste. Main courses were also delicious. Lamb casserole = very distinct & the lamb was cooked to perfection. The glasses & cutlery were very clean. Sparkling glasses. The staff were very attentive & even took a picture of us (we hand our cameras out quite a bit since we were photographing the food, haha). Would definitely go back!
Shiraz Restaurant – NorthendenI purchased a groupon voucher for a two course meal for two and was really excited about taking my partner out as I had heard so many great reviews about Stock. We arrived and were shown to our seats which were in the far corner of the room, we felt abit isolated from the rest of the restaurant. The starters took quite a while to arrive and were slightly on the cool side. My mussels were of good size but the white wine sauce lack any distinctive flavour and was on the salty side, I was quite disappointed and hoped the main course would make up for it, unfortunately it did not. The lamb was quite tasty but the the red wine jus has been reduced so much that it was like syrup and tasted like bisto. My partner ordered an escalope of veal with spaghetti and this seemed quite thrown together with a fried egg on top. The veal had been deep fried in breadcrumbs which made it extremely oily and the fried egg was undercooked. All in all Stock restaurant was a huge disappointment and I would not recommend anyone to dine there. We were lucky we did not have to pay full price but feel that this may have been why we were served sub standard food. I recently had a delicious meal at Thomas restaurant in the Northern quarter with excellent service...this is the place to go for a special meal out that will not disappoint....the cocktails are amazing too
Stock Restaurant – Manchester City CentreBeen during the week and on a Saturday and the service and food have been impeccable both times! The steak is better than Gauchos for a fraction of the cost plus it comes with sides included!? Amazing value for money and just a lovely place to sit and eat :) can't wait to go back!
