Peking Court, The – Manchester City CentreI have been in for the first time today, the young ladies were so polite, the place was clean and food good value for money. I will be back
Cafe Fresco – HulmePoor service, one member of staff was unprofessional and rude. She walked away whilst I was talking to her. It eventually became clear that although we had been told if we arrived 30 minutes before our booking we would be seated at the first available table, this was a lie. They knew when we arrived our table would not be available for 8.30, but did not tell us this and told us we could only sit at the table they had allocated to us. The large group on the table we had been allocated had not even ordered desert by 8.40! Nobody told us how long our table would be, or apologised for the delay. Is this a ploy to get people to spend money in the bar? We were eventually seated at 8.55, guess what at a different table, not the one they said we had to sit at!. Again, no apology for the delay. The staff who served us were OK and the food is nice. However, long wait and rude staff spoil the overall experience. Will be going to Smiths in future.
Blacksticks Restaurant – EcclesSo impressed with the White Room. I went on Valentines day with my partner, we had the steak to share (Chautibriand) off the Valentine menu and all I can say is it was amazing, presentation and taste was out of this world. Recommend this place to anyone who likes fresh food, they even specialise in gluten free which is very hard to find! Well done to the White Room!!
The White Room – WhitefieldHave been going to the Simla for years. Unlike all the others its never 'gone off' or varied in quality. I have yet to find better.
Simla Inn Tandoori Restaurant – RoytonWill never order again dont see how hard it is to get an order right ..ordered lamb balti and got chicken that i don't like...sort your staff out MASS its rediculous.
Balti Brasserie – EcclesOh my god!!! Fire roaring amazing food, drink, peoplel so nice and great humour, all home made foods, if you ask how things are cooked they know when and where all meats and game came from, how its cooked, even a heater outside for any smokers. Never an attitude if you want to mess with the menu, just go go go!!!!! Best pub I've been in for years!!
Rigbye Arms Country Inn and Bistro – WiganFab lovely views n excellent food lovely staff.
The Strawbury Duck – BoltonHad business lunch with an important client. I had heard a lot about it. It was truly fantastic and my client was overwhelmed with the service, great food and ambience of restaurant. I personally think its the best restaurant in Manchester. Taking my wife on valentines :)
Avalanche Restaurant – Manchester City CentreExcellent meal friendly sevice been back time n time again We'll defo be back visiting soon. Staff are spot on room is very stylish n staff are very knowledgible regarding whats in the dishes. I've had a stomach op n there was no problem what so ever with me havin a child size portion, which I may add was massive.
Al Bosco – BuryI had a meal on Saturday 9th Feb with hubby and friends. The friends had not been before but i sang your praises. Even though seafood risotto was not on the menu, i asked could they possibly make it for me, like they have previously , again , when not on the menu. Yet again you satisfied my requirement. Thankyou and a good night was had by all. i am 60 on March 19th and i am getting a party together to have a meal there on the 21st. I will be intouch with numbers.
The Lounge – RamsbottomWhat a great value for money chipshop! even though it was very busy the staff were fantastic and got served quickly , went because there one of the few chip shops that do Gluton free batter , good size portions and Anthony behind the fryer seems to know all his regulars - can not recommend the place enough.
Sykes Fish and Chip Shop Cafe – SwintonLooking at the other reviews on this site, many people seem to have had a great experience at Santino, so perhaps during my visit they were just having an off day, however... I visited the restaurant with 3 friends last night. The first thing we ordered was bread and olives to share, there were several olives but unfortunately only 3 small pieces of bread between 4, as such we had ask the waiter to bring enough bread for all of us. My starter of ribs were incredibly fatty and tough, as were the steaks myself and a friend ordered - it just seemed as though there was an issue in preparing and cooking the meat. I decided against a dessert, however one friend ordered 2 scoops of icecream, which when it arrived was tasty but tiny. Not so bad in itself, but when you're being charged almost a fiver it leaves a bit of a bad taste in the mouth. Not great all in all, although I would mention that the service was very good.
Santino Restaurant – BuryHey Loulla and boys. .I'm declaring a bias comment here, being your favourite brother in law and uncle in law. I have taken many friends to the Kosmos over the years and everyone without fail enjoyed it.
Kosmos Taverna – Fallowfield:sigh My husband and I attended the Rivington pub and grill for the first time this Saturday 9 feb valentines treat to each other! The meal was excellent most of the way through! I unfortunately discovered a 'hair' embedded in my dessert. When the waitress came to clear our plates and asked if all had been ok we brought to her attention the hair on my plate, her reaction was to say nothing and storm off!! 20 minutes later there was still no sign off any other staff/manager to attend to our problem, so my husband asked another member off staff who was very apologetic and offered to get the manager over to sort our problem! Moments later another gentleman appeared named 'Patrick' . Patricks attitude was clearly no better than that off the lady's before! He did NOT apologise for this unfortunate situation he told my husband and I that infant it was not a hair that I found IN my When the waitress came to clear our plates and asked if all had been ok we brought to her attention the hair on my plate, her reaction was to say nothing and storm off!! it was cotton from clothing!!!! ( what a laughable excuse, I have been a hairdresser for 14 years and have worked with all types of human and synthetic hair.... I know a hair when I see one!!) To which my husband replied , if this was the case why was there cotton in my wife's meal?? Is that acceptable to yourselves? Patrick had no answer and still no apology as he walked away offering no solution to our dismay! This was a very dissapionting end to what could have been a lovely evening!! I myself am and have been a local business owner in Horwich for the last ten years, this for them should have been a fantastic opportunity to have free positive publicity first hand to all who pass through my buisiness and ask about the local cuisine! Unfortunately for them all I can do now is be truthful and tell them off my experience I had this evening in which me and my husband where made to feel be-littled and less than valued!! What a hugely dissapionting end for us and for the rivington pub and grill!!
Rivington Pub and Grill – HorwichCombined the £10 main course and galss of wine lunchtime offer with a starter and dessert, total cost £20. Excellent veggie food, makes a change not to have to select from the also rans on a meat eaters menu. Shows what a bit of thought to a menu can do.
Bistro 1847 – Manchester City CentrePlace nice, food great, service superb, price reasonable.
Kebabish Original – RusholmeI would highly recommend San Marco's to any lover of Italian food. We had four totally different dishes and each one was delicious. The place was warm and welcoming, with a great front of house and very friendly staff. We will defintely be returning.
