Morning Star Pub Restaurant – OldhamTried to book a table at the Shoulder of Mutton, Holcombe, only to be told that they were closed as the kitchen was being re-fitted (re-opens 5th Feb). The young lady offered to book me in at their sister pub, the Victoria Hotel. We booked in with a little trepidation as we had heard the Shoulder was good but knew nothing of the Victoria. Well, had a fabulous evening! They have got the balance between pub and restaurant just right - retained a couple of small rooms around the bar for drinkers and small, separate dining room for diners. A good selection of real ales, reasonably priced wines by glass and bottle, good, friendly service from young bar and waiting staff. Menu had good mix of traditional English fayre, (Hot pot, fish & chips, etc) and more modern English cuisine - hare with ratatouille, pheasant. All excellent value for the money. Speaking to Andrew after the meal I can confirm it is in the same ownership as the Shoulder. Good luck to both establishment.
The Victoria – BuryDisappointing! We came to Try Thai first about 2.5 years ago and loved it. Since end of 2009 they extended the restaurant significantly with a whole new business approach. Even though it looks quite fancy now in the new bit it has completely lost it's charm and character and the quality of food has deteriorated significantly too. The simple and friendly restaurant is now a Chaophraya style restaurant with loud pop music and just average quality food and service. We are on the quest of finding a new favorite Thai restaurant now.
Try Thai – Manchester City CentreBest Indian takeaway/restaurant around. staff are very friendly and food is lovely. Always a great experience.
Bilash Balti House – SwintonI come with my husband and son all the time and they are great with kids and they provide such an atmosphere very relaxed. The food it brilliant, wonderful chefs, and the waitering service is marvellous and they interact with many, if not all the customers!
Empire – UrmstonI have been eating at this restaurant since I moved to Manchester 12 years now. I thoroughly recommend, staff are polite and the food is excellent. Tandoori lamb chops are my fave and Tarka Dhal is wonderful. Tried Rusholme and nothing there compares. Always clean and tidy and will continue to support this amazing venue.
New Far Pavilion – SwintonThis was our 6th time in Zouk and we loved it once again! It was the 1st time we tried vegetarian selection and it was absolutely delicious....Delicate flavours of Dall Handi and just the right amount of spices in Mili Juli Sabzi were out of this world and their nans...What can I say about that...? Amazing...Best nan bread in Manchester.. In all 6 times i've been there we always tried different food and every single time it appears to be exceptionally good. They've got wide range of not only usual Indian food but a fantastic selection of seafood and steaks and very odd - French desserts, however it works brilliantly together! Staff is always very friendly and polite and will go extra mile for you to feel satisfied and enjoy your dining experience. So i can recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good Indian food and looking for great time out!
Zouk Tea Bar – Manchester City CentreThe worst service I have ever had. Waited to get seated for 5 minutes while waitresses walked past us and ignored us. Then we got seated, lots of other people Got served 20 mins later we still hadn't got served so we left. Will never go back to tampopo.
Tampopo – Manchester City Centrei have been going to the Dilshad for 25 years with my husband and family, you cannot get better service or food

Caspian – RusholmeWe've been going to La Roma now for over 18 months and we've always had a great meal. The pizza's are great, just like in Italy. We love it and can't wait to go again very soon.
La Roma Restaurant – BoltonReally enjoyed the food and surroundings, the soup was delicious and just what I needed!
Ning – Northern QuarterThis is the best Japanese food I have eaten outside of Japan! The food was so fresh, prepared to order and there was a very welcoming atmosphere. Also, this is the only Japanese place I've been to that does the crab salad nigiri, which was soooo good. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone. Go!
Tokyo Season – Manchester City Centrei went to the orange tree tapas for the first time on Friday night with friends from work, well wot a great little restaurant, we tried most of the tapas menu, and it was all amazing couldn't even say which was my fav, as we all enjoyed it all. The staff made you very welcome and looked after us all night, we have now decided we are making a regular night out, its a most try .
The Orange Tree Tapas – AudenshawGet place - prefer the Bury shop to Manchester for the atmosphere but food Evey bit as good. Excellent food and very reasonably priced. Please think about opening one in Bolton - it would go down a storm.
Katsouris – Manchester City Centrehave been to this taverna 3 times now took my daughter for the 1st time last night, she absolutely loved it, the food is fantastic the service even better nothing is too much trouble, and even when we asked for some hummus to take home ( this is delicious) it was accompanied with some warm pitta . very reasonably priced very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, this may have just knocked curry mile of the top of our favourites list.
Kosmos Taverna – FallowfieldWow..... Real Greek Cooking.... This place is brilliant!!! The food is excellent, full of flavour and the atmosphere is cosy. The waiter who tells jokes is funny, and yes you can even get a Mythos here!!! Recommend the Mousaka, Kebabs, actually anything!!!
