Absolutely loved it! Fantastic little restaraunt with great food, a really lovely atmosphere (a brilliant buzz but not much noise!) and superb service.

Went 27th June, we were the only ones in the restaurant so got drinks and ordered pretty quickly but then sat for over an hour before any food appeared, people coming in after us got their food before we did, sat for nearly 40 mins with empty plates before the 1 server that was working came over and asked if we wanted dessert and then we waited another 30 mins for them to come out all the while other people came ate and left before we had anything infront of us.

Brilliant restaurant, even for two vegetarians! Love the atmosphere and the music playlist - including staff singing along. Staff are friendly and welcoming and you get the impression they enjoy working here. We shared a hummus starter, which was plenty for the two of us, and both had the cauliflower main, which was delicious. It's very clear why you need to book in advance! Hope to be back in the not-too-distant future.

Had a lovely lunch yesterday. Excellent as always. Staff are always nice and friendly too. Will defo be back again.

Oh dear! What a difference a change of ownership can make. I have enjoyed lunch and dinner here for many years. For many years I have received consistency in customer service, food quality food and whole some portions. Good value for money in a beautiful historic setting and great location. My go to place for birthdays or occasions as I knew that I would enjoy. What has happened ? I am so disappointed! Lack luster service, gone is the friendly chat banter and the attentiveness of the waitress/waiter in looking after you. The portion sizes normally a plateful! What has happened to the portion sizes?

Recently had lunch in the bar. Steak Pie and Halloumi wrap were tasty! Bar area a little tired.

Lovely venue. We had our wedding reception here 50years ago and returned for our Golden Wedding Lunch. Staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble and no-one could complain about the portion sizes. The food itself was superb and you were given time between courses. Would definitely recommend The Ravelston for anyone looking to book either an event or just a meal for two.

An amazing dinner. The fish was so fresh. We both had halibut with different sauces. Shared hummus as a starter. Good prices as well.

Perfect place. Friendly cafe atmosphere with the most incredible, delicious fresh seafood, plus friendly and helpful staff. Can’t rate it highly enough.

Excellent meal, first class service, very accommodating given we had a wheel chair in the group.
