As usual service was good prices fair my only criticism would be that they do not offer lighter bites or pensioners meals we do not all have the appetite of a manual worker and as a result food is wasted

Had a great Sunday lunch here with family and will be back. The food was gorgeous (with generous portions) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The perfect place for a meal halfway between family members - well worth the 2.5 hour drive.

Not the best on this occasion. Sausages overcooked and tasteless my husband didn’t eat even one. Starter and desert fine usually much better than this overall

Visited on Thursday 8th August. The service and drinks (Butty Bach and Merlot) were very good as were the main courses (Monkfish Scampi special excellent, Beef Stifado very good). Our sorbet deserts were refreshing but spoilt slightly by being full of crunchy ice, probably due to being open too long within the freezer but the real disappointment was the coffee. This was either a very unusual blend or, more likely, very stale beans which was a real shame. Overall very good and we will return.

Great food, although not sure how onion chutney fits in with a seafood platter:-) Enjoyed the game pie, mussels looked excellent. The pork medallions were top notch. Would go again.

It was great to dine in a brilliant independent pub restaurant. The menu was a change from the standard fare served in most chain restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will definitely return!

Went here Friday 3rd Aug. What a fantastic place to visit. Only 10 minutes from home and I discovered this pub. The staff were young and fantastic a credit to their age group. As for the food from the first of 3 courses to the last lick on my spoon was beautiful and fresh and very reasonably prices, book soon people you will not be disappointed. Jon Dickinson (very happy customer 5 stars)

Food was lovely and the service was excellent. Not a bad price for meals and drinks for 5 people. Plenty of choice including a specials board. Will definitely go again and would recommend.

First time visiting, will sadly not be going back as service was just shocking. Amazing food, but it took over an hour for us to be able to order food, we asked for the attention of whom we believe was the manager twice to be blatantly ignored by them, in the end the lady who served us drinks reminded him we were still yet to order. If you're a regular or a local, it was very clear you were treated different. Great food, just had better customer service in a McDonalds.

I booked a late table 20:45 for 4 of us. The staff were friendly, we have been here several times before and rarely have a complaint, but it felt like we were being rushed, different people kept coming over to collect plates and glasses (even if only 1 glass was empty), but was not asked if we wanted more drinks. My husband and youngest son had the pie which is always a winner with us, but they both said it was quite dry. A lot of the chips were rock hard too (over fried). The vegetables were barely cooked. I had the pasta which I had never had before, it was like they had cooked the pasta, heated a tin of tomato soup and mixed them together. There was a lot of sauce. Then, they put the garlic bread on top of it which made it go soggy. We were very disappointed with this visit. Maybe we won’t book a late table again.
