Lovely night out with friends. Our visit to the Vine was the usual wonderful service and delicious food. We had the 'monkfish, venison and lamb', all perfectly cooked and delicious - well done Chef! Cosy atmosphere with a log fire and friendly happy staff - all added to make our night out a good one.

I mean our group size changed and arrival times were staggered, the staff sorted starters for the early arrivals and then timed the main courses for when the stragglers arrived. (the late arrivals were sent a menu by WhatsApp and they chose while on their journey over) Food presentation was great and quantities perfect. Will return.

I opted for the monkfish which was sublime! Really friendly staff, good service, would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back!
Vine Inn – StourbridgeTook my mother here for a pre-christmasy lunch out. Excellent service. She is 96 and, at her request, was offered a smaller portion of the main course. We tucked into some lovely vension haunch off the specials board with greens beans that had been perfectly good (still crunchy) and dauphinoise potatoes that were very creamy. The Wainwrights beer was well kept and a very drinkable glass of merlot. Great pub food.

Highly recommend. It is slightly more expensive than some places but food is homecooked and you get what you pay for.

However it ended in such a rushed fashion it ruined the experience. We ordered a delicious bottle of red wine and we all had to leave some as the owners were locking up and hurrying us to go. I appreciate that there is pressure to finish but the customer shouldn't feel it as obviously as we did.

My one and only criticism, the so called, hand cut chips that are over sized and too greasy. If they were smaller and better cooked then I would be a much happier bunny! In fairness to The Red Lion, many places seem to offer these chips these days. No one appears to offer a well cooked and firm chip. A fuss over nothing maybe but you did ask…
