I recommend this plaice to everybody ,it has unique taste in all the foods that are participated with love in the cook .specially the Currys are specially made with delicious taste and variety in service and cook. the starters are perfect cook also the Naan is different to others with a taste of extras its the best in Blackburn..Mashallah . wish them the best in future .

Fantastic fish and chips the batter is delicious.

I was excited to learn that a ''proper'' fish and chip shop was coming to Blackburn. I was very happy with the chips but not so with the fish. Haddock is my favourite fish and should be light and flaky but the fish from Mother Hubbard's was the opposite - very chewy and solid. I wonder whether the period between the fish swimming and the public eating has been too long.

First day it opened on thursday tried the fish and chips which was really nice, went again on the weekend chips were really soggy, fish was very crispy and batter was darker like it was overcooked which kind of put me off. Today on 28/10/2015 around 2pm tried a sausage butty and chips chips were not so bad but the sausage didnt taste like a chippy sausage it was more an asian style sausage and it was hard from the outside which tasted burnt overcooked. Fish and chips price is £4.75 which is reasonable but for a sausage butty and chips and a can of diet coke was extortionate, the question is would I go back. HELL NO

Visited Mother Hubbard's Blackburn on Sunday 25th October at around 7.30pm. The restaurant was very busy with queues to the door . My wife and I had 2 x fish and chips at £4.75 each to take away. I think the price is reasonable but unfortunately the quality is poor. The chips were soft and droopy ( chips should be crispy on the outside and soft in the middle) The fish wasn't much better . They were served on top of the chips in cardboard boxes and when I got home ( 5 min trip ) I tried to lift them out and put them on plates, but the soggy batter peeled off and remained stuck to the chips. I won't visit again which is unfortunate as I like to support local businesses

The chips was ok but the fish was awful -- the batter is too thin and not crispy at all -- the batter was more soggy than the ketchup -- it's new in Blackburn so I guess everyone is trying it out BUT am sure there will not be many return customers -- no where as nice as the local AJK chippy. I won't be going to Blackburn Mother Hubbards again -- Should had listen to the local people that have the same review but I had to try it out before I knocked it.. Not worth visiting.

First and last visit 19/10/15 about 2.00pm..nice clean and welcoming... The food however is diabolical... Ordered fish and chips to take out.... £4.75. A touch over priced but then I added to the order a cheese pie... £1.75.....I queried the price but was met with a blank stare from the new from job centre employee.... The surprise awaited me when I arrived home.... The fish and chip's had probably been cooked the night prior and were full of frying fat..... Not at all crispy as expected.... The expensive cheese pie was rock hard and had probably been cooked some day's prior to the aged fish and chip's... I did not manage half of the entire offering before it was all consigned to the bin!....I never, never feel sick but I felt sick last night and this morning..... I have travelled the world and never ever purchased such a foul meal in my life before..... This is also the first time that I have ever left a revue anywhere.... I have been totally ripped of and made ill into the bargain....

Ate there last sat night 1st visit and won't be the last. Food to die for and fab service. You can tell its run by the owner and her family, nice lady, nice dog!!!We live in lytham but it won't put us off travelling. Fab meal, ribs to die for !!

My wife and I were invited to a function in Northcote's new private dining suite. Everything was spot on, efficient service, quality food and a real luxurious location. We also were lucky enough to have a tour of the stunning new kitchen complete with a chefs table with video link. Highly recommended.

I always wished for a buffet restaurant in Blackburn, and yesssss we got it. They have got less dishes but all are very good to taste, and staff were very helpful. I really enjoyed it. I just loveed it...

Me and my friends from work sent to Waheeds for a meal. We had met up after a long time so we ate and chatted. We sat for 3 hours and one of the guys came to us at 9.05 saying this table is booked for 9pm. We felt so humiliated he was basically asking us to leave NEVER HAVE WE BEEN TOLD TO LEAVE A RESTAURANT IN THAT MANNER! He knew we hadn't had desert but he still charged us full. It was so embarrassing I would never recommend any of my friends to go there again no respect for people at all!

This place is really good, just a few minutes walk for me. Quite often at lunch we pop down for a meal, they are always cooked fresh to order this is a popular place and quite often busy but this doesn't have an affect on the food or the busy staff. They always manage a good chat and a smile very attentive towards the customers, great place worth a try. Compliments to the chef, thank you.

This is the most popular place I like to eat, the staff are fantastic polite and cheerful. The food is the best ever, in all the years I have eaten here I have never had a bad dish they are always cooked fresh to order. Drinks are always chilled just right and they have never said sorry for running out of anything I would use this place again and recommend to any of my friends and family. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.

I had lunch with my Father last week and really enjoyed the fish and chips. A warm welcome and comfortable surroundings made it super. We will definitely go again soon.

I wanted somewhere special to celebrate Valentines and our 5th anniversary. I contacted Sugarvine who recommended Northcote for my requirements. I am very glad they did. We had a wonderful time and everything was first class and I would recommend it to anyone else for that special occasion. It's pricey, however I expected that and was prepared. Thanks Ed.
