We took 7 friends there for my husbands birthday on 28th November. The food , mostly , was excellent, the service was absolutely DIRE and commented on by other diners the same evening. The maitre d could not have cared less; one of our guests , who has a dairy allergy, despite making special arrangements beforehand and specifically ordering dairy free on the night, had to send every course back.The staff seemed stumped by having cheese before . The wine waiters were giggling behind a screen and we finished up pouring wine ourselves otherwise we would never have got a drink. When I phoned the following day to say we had not been happy with the service, I was told " I'm only the relief manager" Black mark, Northcote, we won't be coming back.

I went here on Thursday and despite it being Valentine's day and it was packed out it was the best meal i have ever had, we had a fantastic time and will be back again very soon!! You must give this little gem a try!!!

If you want Brilliant Food, Amazing Atmosphere and Outstanding Service on one very large plate then this is the place for you. Located just off Preston New Road in Blackburn the spacious beautifully decorated entrance in an amazing start to what will prove to be a great night out. That mixed in with large dining space and a car-park to fit roughly 60 cars you will never be let down. Please bear in mind that this is a Buffét Restaurant and at only £10 for all you can eat (not including drinks/chips etc...) you will be surprised how little you will spend. Sylet is one of our favourite restaurant. my husband would go every night of the week if it was up to him. The lamb chops are amazing!!

This restaurant, serves THE best value for money meals I've ever had the pleasure of eating and believe me, every mouthful is a pleasure. The service is quick and friendly, and the hosts are always welcoming. The extensive menu brings together traditional and exotic flavours with something to suit everyone.

Generally, I'm not a big fan of sports bars/cafes, but while driving to Blackburn last month, I saw the signs for this place on the A666 - and decided to give it a whirl. I wasn't disappointed - and I will be returning in future. The menu has something for everyone. I had a huge, tasty burger (one of the best in Lancashire surely)... and much better than you'd get at the McDonalds over the road. I hope I'm driving from Bolton to Blackburn on the Blackburn on the A666 at lunchtime soon, as I'll surely be stopping by. Well worth a visit if you're a Rovers or even a football fan - but even if you're not...you'll get a decent meal here.

shi qila the best indian tandori place you could ever imagine

This restaurant promises to be a great experience, but as soon as we walked in I was frozen stiff. I was shivering and my fingers were so cool i sat on my hands to get them warm. The staff were friendly but it was hard to get their attention. After our mains were delivered it took five minutes to get someone to bring us knifes and forks by which time the food was cool!The food was ok, tempura squid was gorgeous!!! My main course of Thai prawns was dissapointing and was sent back. We were refunded for this dish but not for the accompanying noodles which seemed odd as I hadnt eaten them because the prawn dish had made me feel sick. My husband had the duck but commented it was fatty and not very good quality. I had the house Rose wine which wasnt very nice and Black Bison which tasted like antifreeze with a mouldy blackcurrent on top. It wasnt my idea of a enjoyable romantic night out with my partner and sat near the kitchen which sounded like a freight train sped thru every ten minutes, the whole expereince was far from pleasurable! Its an ok restaurant, nice decor, limited menu and dissaointing dessert choice. Not sure if I would go again.

Nice pub with disabled access, friendly service, good food and nice surroundings. We have been a few times to this pub and have not been let down.

Visited this pub a few years ago and it was OK then but years on and a return to the pub and Wow, what a transformation. It now offers disabled access, it allows superb views, it has some fine beers and lagers and the food is very nice with some interesting specials on offer. I would have liked to score this pub bad and say stay away but that would be me trying to stop other folk going then I would be guaranteed a good seat every time I went.

The Shajan is the VERY best Indian restaurant that I have ever been to -- and yes, I have been to a great many all over the country ( and some in other countries as well). The staff are excellent, the food heavenly, the atmosphere heavenly .......... etc. I could go on and on. I have never had to wait long myself, and I always go to the bar first. The manager is one of the nicest, most welcoming men you could hope to meet as well.True, it can get VERY busy, so book your table in advance --- or do like I do, get there as soon as it opens! I go about every two weeks ( more if I can), and only have good things to say about the place. I hear that some people say they get rushed! Well I for one have NEVER found that to be the case, and I usually spend around two hours there each time I go! If you like Indian food --- it DOESN'T get better than this place.

Excellent food at a price you would expect for this kind of quality. I am of Asian decent and asked to make my Chicken Shajan a medium/hot and did I love it. Starter and pop's were very good, very up pleasant experience on I would take my family to for sure :).

We have been 3 times now - our first 2 visits merited 'outstanding' all round, but we were very disappointed on our 3rd (and probably last) visit - not so much on the food, although we did feel this was slightly below par, but service was nowhere near as good as previous visits (we did wonder if this was because we were drinking only water - be warned, tap water is 50p per glass!)

had the giants Plate did not realise what G.P meant till i got the plate i had surf and turf, I counted how many pieces of scampi i had there was 26 on my plate including a big piece of steak chips mushrooms onion rings, peas and carrots i could not eat it all!!Great value for money and good food really extensive menu as well, would definitely go again..

Mine and my wifes favourite restaurant. You are made to feel very welcome from entering the restaurant to leaving. The food and service is first class. We have tried the whole range of curries and have never been let down. The bangladesh specials are very good. Also a good range of indian beers and even a indian malt whisky. Do not miss out on this great restaurant.

Delicious food, great service, professional outfit.

The staff were very good and the atmosphere was lovely. The food looked very nice, but unfortunately it tasted very bland. It was very expensive for what it was and we would be reluctant to go again unless we hear of better reviews,
