First time visiting and 2 of us came for Sunday lunch. Both had beef and it was delicious. The meal was hot and roast potatoes were scrumpy. We also had a desert each on the 'free desert with each Sunday Lunch' offer currently on and they were also very tasty. Maybe slightly overpriced for portion size if not on the deal, but for a treat going out to eat would be acceptable occasionally. Staff were attentive and friendly. Service was welcoming and at the right speed, although it wasn't overly busy so the staff didn't seem rushed. Atmosphere nice, a little chilly but that's personally preference. Will visit again.

Food was alright but took a long time to come. A friend complained about her desert but nothing at all was said.

Lovely catch up with an ex work colleague last night. The food was fab as usual atmosphere is the best in town, very relaxing, service was good, least to say Ellenders has become my go to place for all socialising

Have visited many time, but this is the first time for Sunday lunch and was Over the moon with the quality and value for money.

Booked in for Sunday lunch. Food was excellent, and in our view value for money. Not cheap pub-grub…the extra quality was worth it. Only criticism would be the speed of service given the number of staff around. Generally though, enjoyable experience.

The only criticism we have about the food was the buns with the burgers were very dry and the fish and chips served on a wooden board. Service was very slow with the drinks. Actual place was nice, fresh and comfortable. This was our first visit so will give it another go.

Food was fantastic , perhaps more vegetables for the meals would be better we struggled between 6 of us and for the price would expect a little more on the plate, Dessert was fantastic, lovely atmosphere. Only negative , service was poor staff seen to be standing chatting behind the bar when we had all finished our meals empty plates left for around 20 minutes , our drinks were empty and no one came to check if we wanted more drinks , we waited a while to pay the bill and had to ask staff to come over, there appears to not be much staff visibility on the floor instead they were chatting behind the bar. Sunday Lunch today was not bad. We all thought the meal was overpriced for what is served. It would have been nice to have more vegetables between 4 of us - and that they would have been fresh, local produce . A few minor improvements would have made us want to book again - the food cooled very quickly because it was all served on cold plates and bowls. It was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing , staff were prompt and polite, but we will be reluctant to book again.

Superb food, great service and ambience. Highly recommended.

First visit for my friends and they loved it. Had the Christmas menu. The mushroom and butternut squash vegetarian was absolutely delicious and the friends who had the Christmas turkey said it was delicious. Followed by the best cheesecake in town, a lovely meal in all.

A group of us went for lunch on Thursday. We are not easy to please and are often disappointed in some aspect or other of meals out, even in so called 'top' restaurants. However, this was not one of those occasions. The food was exceptional, even the vegetables which were perfectly cooked. Service was superb also. Only very slight negative was the coffee. I just feel sorry for people that may pop in for a coffee and then judge the whole restaurant on that experience and never return. But we will be returning for sure.

Brilliant atmosphere, nice and clean, and modern. Food choice was basic for lunch with only a few options, a good burger or similar would of been better than pie or fish and chips, however it was good and presented amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful and knowledgeable on the local team. Credit to Rachel and Lisa W for making us feel welcome.
