Amazing Food!
The Roastery – EastbourneFirst time group dinner night out since Covid hit. Great food, cocktails and atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed and service was responsive and welcoming.
The Roastery – EastbourneDiscovered this place by accident and managed to get a booking on the last day of our holidays after a great lunch at their sister location, Nelson Coffee. Could not find a thing to complain about - their drink selection is varied and interesting, their cocktails perfectly prepared; service was attentive without being overbearing and the menu full of dishes I wanted to try; my vegetarian partner had a great selection as well, definitely a cut above the usual lackluster vegetarian dishes some places offer. What they produce is a testament to how a small team of hard working front of house and kitchen staff (I counted 5 people total for the full evening service) can produce something to rival the best restaurants in the country. My only complaints were that they were not here in Sheffield so I could go back again and again, and that they don't have a twitter presence so I can rave about them on there as well. If you are in Eastbourne and looking for good food, this is the best meal I ate all week in a week which included visits to the Mirabelle at the Grand, and the Rathfinny Wine Estate Kitchen.
The Roastery – EastbourneExcellent!!
The Roastery – EastbourneService was slow and so was the food however, the staff where really pleasant and did care about the customers that’s for sure. Didn’t appreciate the chef shouting across to some random girls who where shouting and blocking the toilets, just because he knew them. The bar staff really tried which was appreciated but the kitchen was the problem. Constantly shouting at the young staff and talking to locals from the other side of the room. Over done steak. But lovely cocktails and a really nice inside. Glad they are there it’s nice to have something in Crawley down. Does need someone with experience to run. But overall the owner and bar staff where the only reason customers enjoyed it.
The Carriage – CrawleySuperb food and service as always, Eastbourne finest restaurant
The Roastery – EastbourneWe enjoyed the beautifully cooked food but sadly the noise level increased tremendously after say 7.00 pm.the service by the girls excellent but again rather slow. We did not want to rush but there is a happy medium. Luckily I did not pay so cannot comment.
The Roastery – EastbourneNever disappointed we tried the new summer set menu. Two or three courses. Great value and super food. I had calamari and the other half the Penang curry. Perfect sized portions and delicious. Desserts are my thing and the rhubarb and custard donut didn’t disappoint. Not to sweet, just light and delicious. Well priced and delicious food. Well worth turning right out of the station.
The Roastery – EastbourneVery enjoyable evening…good food at a reasonable price…
The Carriage – CrawleyGreat food and fantastic service which made for a very pleasant evening indeed! Started with a delicious fennel seed bread and salted butter and then an unexpected amuse-bouche which was super tasty. I choose the Scallops followed by the Panang curry, both of which were absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic throughout the evening. Friendly, attentive and our waitress (possibly the manager) was totally on the ball. My only feedback would be that I didn’t particularly like using the QR code to access the menu which we then read on our phones. Feels a bit anti social to me however I believe you could have asked for a tangible copy, if required. We will definitely be re booking and have recommend to friends.
The Roastery – EastbourneWe had a birthday dinner here, food was great, service was outstanding, atmosphere was lovely, I had bought a cake for my nephews birthday, waitress took it for me, after our amazing dinner , I didn’t have to ask they brought the cake out and played music to sing happy birthday. It was a lovely relaxing evening, and can not wait to go back.
The Carriage – CrawleyLovely food, but I am sad to say that the service is very slow. It was not full during our visit but it took 2.5 hours to be served main and dessert for a table of 4. I had to ask 3 times for water and we had to ask for pudding menu and then to order pudding and pay etc. Could be much a much slicker service. I must say all staff were friendly though.
The Carriage – CrawleyHave been here a number of times and will continue to return. Absolutely excellent food and fantastic service! Thank you.
The Roastery – EastbourneHad a lovely meal here for our date night. It was relatively quiet as it was a Tues so nice and peaceful, just enough chatter around us to create an atmosphere. Service was very good with welcoming staff. The menu is not extensive but the quality of the food was excellent. I had the Chicken skewers with rice, which were cooked perfectly, very tasty and presented nicely. We will definitely be returning (especially as we live very close!!)
