The White Knight – CrawleyAbsolutely fabulous good value for money Colin and Gill good fun.
The Red Lion – Pevenseythe worst service and food i have had in a long time . When i complained that my lasagna was dry iwas told that the sauce was "in there somewhere ha ha " the management was no better. think twice .
Hay Waggon Inn – HartfieldSat by a roaring log fire eating a hearty home cooked dinner beautifully served in a pub with such great atmosphere. The Dolphin is a little haven, the history of the place, the decor, the staff and the regulars are a must. The food is wonderful both the way it's cooked and served, what impressed me is the fact that vegetarians are so well catered for too. I've fallen in love with this pub and can't recommend it highly enough.
The Dolphin – LittlehamptonSadly i went there today for a special tea but came away unserved and ignored. As usual early season staff are untrained by management
Exceat Farmhouse – Seafordgreat value for money. I would recommend the party menu (I think for 5 people or more). Great choice of starters, followed by crispy duck and then dishes of your choice. The more people in you party the more dishes you can choose but you are always given plenty. All this for £11 a head -great value.
August Moon – HastingsWe had a quiet evening meal in February which was superb. Portions were huge, and the staff were eager to please. Restaurant was spacious and spotlessly clean. We can't wait to go back and sample more off the menu, but apparently very very busy in summer due to campsite adjacent
Star Inn – PevenseyI went to Nobles last Saturday for dinner with my girlfriend. We had both been looking forward to it all week as had heard some good things. On arrival the restaurant seemed ideal. It was quiet, intimate, modern and had a welcoming atmosphere. That’s where the positives end. The starters took nearly an hour to arrive. The smoked Duck on the specials was good if incredibly small and my girlfriend enjoyed her crab risotto. The main course shortly followed. My girlfriend had ordered the Pheasant, and although very pleasant in taste was barely lukewarm. I had ordered the Fillet Beef, and when asked how I would like it to be prepared, I asked for “rare”. When the meat arrived it was far from rare. So I asked the waitress to change it. After 5 minutes a chef appeared at our table with my dinner in his hand and wanted to know what was wrong with his beef! I replied that I had ordered it rare and in my opinion it wasn’t. To my shock he told me that in his eyes it was perfectly cooked and that he wasn’t prepared to re do it. No alternative was offered or even an apology, it was a case of like it or lump it! At no point in paying my bill was I offered an apology or a reduction from the bill. Nobles clearly has no interest in customer service or ensuring that their customers leave happy and satisfied.
Nobles – BattleBRILLIANT Very clean - Great atmosphere All locally sourced, free range and organic food - freshly cooked to perfection. The veggies are taken care of well - i was pleased and glad to see that somewhere that cooks meat well can also offer a real vegetarian option and my husband a really meat lover - loved the beef - cooked to perfection and really tender. Good value for money as the plates are piled high. its now my fave place in hove!
The Forager – Brighton and HoveGreat meal on Valentines day. Thank you all for a very special dinner. You made it so so good that you are now our favourite Restaurant in Brighton.
Casalingo Restaurant – Brighton and HoveSorry not a restaurant that I could recommend. Food was swimmimg in water and the staff could not careless
The Old Polegate Station – PolegateWe were in Hastings for the day and had early dinner in the Black Pearl. I enjoyed the downstairs atmosphere so much that we didn't leave the place at all. It was great for dinner and drinks afterwards, the music was just right and the food was fantastic, even the non-seafood option was delicious. The oysters were very fresh and so was the fish. We will come back again.
Black Pearl – HastingsI can't say how much I enjoy going there - such a welcoming place with good service from friendly staff and real attention to detail. A wide menu - the best pizzas since our trip to Rome - and a great atmosphere. Nothing seems too much trouble - and it's just so relaxing. And excellent value! A real gem.
Trattoria Italiana – BexhillGreat pub, great food, great atmosphere. A nostalgic step back in time.... the food portrays this too, homemade proper meals, filling and enjoyable. Beautifully cooked and served, a varied menu everyday. I will definitely eat there again and highly recommend it
