Connoisseur Of Good Food

For Thai Food, you have to go to Thai Classic in Bristol and you will not find a better place than this gem of a restaurant. The food is of excellent quality, the service is second to none and the price is excellent value for money; especially the lunch deal of £6. I would recommend anyone who enjoy good food to give this place a visit as it has never failed to impress me.

This is a charming, well run and old English style inn, with a decent menu giving a good choice. The cooking is first rate, the service quick and discreet and the staff very welcoming. The only problem is the location of the inn, which is somewhat difficult to find! However, just find the church in Batcombe, and it is just next to that. It is well worth the effort!

we arrived on a Wednesday evening to celebrate a birthday . the receptionist was brisk ans efficient although not overtly friendly. we were surprised to observe that other diners were dressed so casually , shirts hanging out from trousers ,jackets off for dinner , very medallion man!. the food was excellent and presented well , the waitress was very helpful although could be taken for being patronising . a good experience and for the food alone worth a second visit

I have just spent the evening eating exquisite food with solid silver cutlery, drinking a quality wine from crystal cut glasses, in a 5 star setting. What more could you ask for an evening out.

Enjoyed our meal at the San Carlo restaurant on Corn Street immensely. As a lover of all Italian food, I was very impressed with the range and quality of dishes on offer here. The Scallops San Carlo was absolutely delicious and was complimented by some fine chardonnay. We’re already looking forward to eating there again.

Have eaten here a couple of times now. Food is fantastic and the menu is updated regularly. Staff are very friendly and the owner takes an interest in customers feedback and comments.

The menu serves Japanese food, but it's not close enough to what it's suppose to be, and I feel slight resentment that this place is called Japanese restaurant, because as far as I am concerned, it serves bastardised mock-Japanese food. Rice used for sushi was hard - it was clear the rice was chilled in the fridge as well, something no respectable Japanese restaurant will ever do! That is one of the worst mistake non-Japanese make with sushi, it's unbelievably poor. Yakitori again, was close enough to what you would be served in Japan but not close enough to be worth the price. If you want nice sushi, just go to Yo! Sushi; ok, so they serve westernised bastardised mock-Japanese food as well but at least their rice used in sushi hasn't been put in fridge until it goes hard.

Went there for dinner 3rd and 4th of October 2008. Excellent service, excellent food well cooked and well presented. Theresa has a warm and friendly manner - first impressions count and Theresa impresses. Kerry is a very efficient, helpful and pleasant waitress - she behaves as if she enjoys serving you. Richard is an accomplished chef - knows about taste, texture and presentation. Very good prices, real value for money.

The Plough was a really good find. The ambiance was of old beams, stuffed trout on the wall and a roaring fire in an inglenook fireplace. The food was splendid, chosen from a small menu; no articulated lorries delivering choice and value but only moderately good taste- no it was just delicious food at the Plough. The price was acceptable too. The Beer was something to write about as well- bright as a star with a handsome taste. As my wife said, as the winter draws on we shall be going back there to roast ourselves in the inglenook and enjoy a pint or two of good English ale, and good local food.

Really tasty dishes - freshness of the salmon was unbelievable. Loads of cooked sushi options too which my partner chose as he doesn't like raw fish. Meal for 2 including sake was under 35 pounds which we thought was very good valued. Highly recommended!

Dissapointed Vegetarian

Not a good option if you are a vegetarian. The food I was served tasted of meat, and not of the original vegetables and other ingredients. Not a good choice if you are a real vegetarian. Feedback to Boujolais would be to spend a bit more time and clean the pans so clean of meat before cooking a vegetarian option. Restaurants shouldn't offer a veg option if they are not prepared to do it properly. Very disappointing. Not recommended.

Beaujolais Bistro Bar – Bath

Excellent food. Really nice ambiance. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Lovely food most of the time, but difficult to get an answer to the phone when trying to book which means that you end up wondering if you've got your table or not ! Waitress can be a bit too moody too, but they're always full, so must be doing something right !
