Very smart new Italian, very good staff. I had lunch, the pasta with char grilled chicken, pine nut and mascarpone sauce. It was delicious. The downstairs dining room looks fantastic and I want to try it at night.

Nona’s Restaurant – BathI love this place, atmospheric, superb well informed front of house, stunning modern European cooking with fabulous presentation and one of the best wine lists ever.
Bells Diner – Bristol City CentreGreat traditional Italian personal friendly service from great staff, authentic hand spun Pizzas and super pasta dishes. Cant fault it.
Amici – Bristol City CentreGreat quality food here, complex spice yet not in-your-face hot. eaten here three times all excellent. If you are sick of ABC curry sauces try this place.
Ganges – HorfieldThis is the worst place to visit. the pub is pretty enough, yet the owners could curdle milk with their poor customer service and cold food that is masqueraded as a hot menu and the mangers think nothing of abusing customers who want to use carpark, threatening them with a clamp. There are no signs anywhere in the carpark to indicate that would be the case! The mangers think nothing of abusing people in the road and god only knows why they were ever given the responsibility of running a pub! I would advise anyone to avoid going there, the Salthouse, Crabapple all have excellent food and service and i would recommend anyone to avoid this place like the bubonic plague. (unless of course you want to be subjected to a tirade of abuse) Yes i had my children with me and they witnessed this! Absolutely shocking!
Old Inn – Clevedonit is fantastic!!!
HK Diner – Bristol City CentreExcellent Thai food-- the best I have ever tasted. Very fresh, tasty, and healthy! I will definitely go back again and again. I highly recommend this place. Cozy/authentic decor as well.
Lotus Flower – TauntonI wouldn't say it's the best restaurant in Somerset by any means. But it's in a pleasant position, with a door to the Cathedral Green and the menus are creative and good
The Old Spot – WellsMagic and quirky restaurant; ordinary pub-like exterior but surprisingly light interior, with strange and interesting artworks on the walls. Chef Ashley Rainbow has a wonderful talent and his dishes are a delicious combination of tastes and textures, using local ingredients wherever possible. There are five havetobeseentobebelieved bedrooms; one of the bathroom doors is made out of a single slab of wood, including the handle). Lovely, friendly staff.
Wookey Hole Inn The – WellsPeter & Veryan have run this pub with grace, harmony, excellent beers and ciders and very good food for several years. They are very proactive within the village and organise lots of different events - from vintage car rallies to cider & cheese evenings. We've never had a bad meal, nor anything other than a smashing welcome.
The George Inn – WellsIn my opinion the best kept secret in the area. Been eating here for years - the food interesting, seasonal, local & varied, service wonderful and atmosphere relaxed. Highly recommended.
New Farm Restaurant The – TauntonIt might be in the middle of nowhere, but I would travel even further to sample the excellent food served here, game and fish are as fresh, and as succulent as they can get and all perfectly cooked and in great surroundings
Tarr Farm Inn – MineheadI think the meal I had last night was one of the worst meals I have ever had in any restaurant in all my years. The owner was curt, seemingly disinterested, didn't want to talk and a terrible host. Just stayed behind the bar, seemingly very stressed, trying to do five things at once and had no interaction with the guests. And that's after the bill for extremely poor food amounted to £90 for my wife and I. Incredible and sheer extortion for the awful food. I started with 'smooth chicken liver parfait'. It was quite the opposite of smooth being full of big lumps. The pork fillet/tenderloin I then had on a bed of mashed potato was anything but tender. I could hardly cut into it and the mashed potato was 50% water. To cap it all I found an eight inch long black hair in amongst the vegetables, which didn't get any apology from the waitress when I handed it to her. I ended with sticky ginger pudding, which was a slab of goo with nothing with it. No cream, no ice cream. I had to ask for some which arrived 10 minutes later after the pudding had gone cold. Oh, and guess what? Yes, I found another long hair sticking out of the pudding too! My wife had a similar bad experience but I've run out of patience writing about it. My wife went through a process of ordering SIX different main courses before she found one they actually had available. And, how the meal and wine all came to £90 I have no idea but it was an experience I never want to go through ever again. £90 absolutely wasted and the worst pub food would have been twice as good and probably only a third of the cost.
Howards Bistro – NailseaFood was okay, shocking service. Pre booked a table for a group of us. Everyone ordered starter and main, while my partner and I had a set menu. Started promising as the food came out quick, three items came from the set menu, we then had to ask when the rest was coming after 15 mins (told that it was just coming), after another 30 mins when everyone had finished their bento boxes we still were with no additional food. The rest of our party were offered dessert menus while we were still waiting!! Was told that it was due to being very busy upstairs with 40 people. Considering that we booked in advance I find that it was a very poor excuse. Paid for the food we had and more than likely will not be visiting again due to the service - not the food.
Obento – Bristol City CentreEverything about this restaurant is excellent. Food is exceptional, service is friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. There is a very nice ambience about the place. A real gem.
Howards Bistro – NailseaTHIS IS A FRIENDLY PUB AND IS ALSO GAY FRIENDLY, with a gay disco every Thursday night
Plucknett The – YeovilA really lovely little restaurant/cafe/bistro just off the beaten-track of George Street. We are daytime regulars (best coffee in Bath we reckon) but went last Friday night to try their famous tapas platters. The place was buzzing. We could tell all the dishes were made from scratch and were absolutely delicious. Next time we want to try their main dishes (rib-eye steak, risottos, sea bream etc.)which the table next to us had and looked divine. Really cosy atmosphere, fantastic fresh food, reasonable prices and a particularly friendly waitress made this an evening to remember
