Goodfellows at 7B – WellsNot always open in the evenings but totally worth going when it is. Excellent Middle Eastern inspired small plates and a friendly welcome. Delighted that it was also kid friendly. Get there early to bag a spot by the woodburner for maximum cosy vibes.
Olive Kitchen and Bar – YeovilEnjoyed the atmosphere the staff and the food was very good but not excellent, there was room for improvement for the price ticket. Over done wedges to a crisp and small portions the steak was lovely. Desert was very nice.
The Olive Tree Restaurant – WellsA refined take on French cuisine in Wells! My wife and I had a splendid lunchtime meal there: great food and service. Definitely going back.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsGJ retains title as King of fine dining every time we eat here. Puts other restaurants to shame.
Menu Gordon Jones – BathWe had a delicious lunch on Valentines’s day.
Menu Gordon Jones – BathWe went for valentines night and was impressed there was no daft valentines set menu! One of the reasons for choosing the olive tree for a second time. Attentive friendly service , great atmosphere and fabulous food. Just the best!

Union Street Brasserie – YeovilA rare lunch date with the wife. We loved it. Four course valentine's lunch. We were greeted and seated. Service was impeccable and the food amazing. We were not rushed and had plenty of time to savour every mouthful. I felt it was good value for money. Well worth it as an occasional treat. We will be back.
Goodfellows at 7B – WellsWe had lunch at MGJ on 30th January 2025. Over two weeks later we still feel compelled to write a review. The overall experience was amazing. The food was exquisite but as the menu constantly changes there is no real benefit to describing what we had to eat. We went with the wine pairing option and each combination was fantastic, the highlight being the Forty Hall sparkling wine from a vineyard outside London. Food and drink aside, it was everything else that truly elevated the experience. The space is intimate, cosy and has lovely quirky touches. But it is the service levels that truly sets this restaurant apart. You feel like you are sitting in your granny's kitchen and she is preparing something for you to eat not that my granny ever prepared food that tasted anything close to what Gordon Jones comes up with. And Amelie has an amazing ability to find the drink that pairs so elegantly with such food perfection. We are already planning our next visit to MGJ. It's reassuring to read the reviews from people who have returned and have found the experience to be on par with their previous visit. The quote says that the best memories are made when you eat at someone's house and I would highly recommend you call around and have a meal with Mr. and Mrs. Jones.
Menu Gordon Jones – BathA great experience- lovely food- very busy on a wet & windy lunchtime. I was prepared by being well wrapped up but actually shed a layer or two! Nice size portions of very delicious food. Looking forward to trying the other options.
