We had a delicious lunch from the set Lunch Menu. We both had the parsnip soup with homemade bread, which was very comforting in the cold weather. My husband had sausages, mash & red cabbage and I had beer battered fish & chips with mushy peas. Everything was so well cooked and we could not fault any of it. We just had coffee for pudding as too full up from dinner! The Pheasant staff make you very welcoming & safe and we will certainly be making a return visit very soon.

Christmas Eve, full menu with nothing Christmas themed whatsoever -excellent! So, thank you everyone working at the Pheasant for fabulous dining, great, friendly service and an honest appreciation of how wonderful it is to be able to dine out in style again. Going to be seeing lots of you guys in’22!

Good selection on the menu - well presented food, capably and patiently looked after by staff. Over past 40 years have never been disappointed at the Pheasant.

What a delight to meet up with aged parents during a pandemic at such a great location. Very welcoming, fab food and service and I should know having spent 35 years in hospitality. Well worth the 259 mile round trip. I hope they are still there for us when things get back to some kind of normality. Thank you.

Another fantastic meal. In current climate with covid my party felt really safe. The staff were excellent and attentive with no rush placed on us. The food was really of a very high standard and enjoyed by all. When I booked I mentioned we had too with food allergies, one Gluten free and one cream. The maitre'd brough our menus and explained exactly where these two allergies existed so they could make their own judgement, this was really appreciated. Would thouroughly recommend.

Excellent service and outstanding cuisine . The game filled suet pudding was exceptional as was the pheasant ordered by my partner.

Booked and had a lovely meal with the family, I wish I'd booked for Christmas dinners at time of booking, I didn't realise it had to be booked in advance, I would suggest a chicken meal on the menu perhaps chasseur or Spanish chicken, I know Pheasant was available but too strong for some people, we try and come here every Christmas season for our family meal it's my favourite place to visit (I used to live in St Neots, now near Melton Mowbray), next year I'll book Christmas dinner and also a little mention for a children's menu, 5 star service and great prices, thank you x

We booked after a customer of mine recommended I did as they had had a lovely meal there. Everything was great with the service standing out as exemplary. No waiting for anything and the food throughout was delicious. Pubs and restaurants are suffering due to the lockdown and subsequent safety concerns but the Pheasant deserves to do well. Will definitely be returning in 2022!

My family and I ‘dropped in’ on The Pheasant for a single course, but fairly formal lunch. The staff were very attentive, although we were woefully underdressed, and we were made to feel very welcome. My little girl had sausage and mash, one of her favourites, the kitchen staff catered for her every need. My wife and I are vegans and there was food on the menu, so often we end up feeling like aliens; we have to ask for vegetarian or even meat dishes but ask to leave this or that out or off. Our food was very tasty and the portions was generous, the only criticism, if it could be considered one, was that it was oily.

We were looking forward to going the Pheasant for Sunday lunch, as we've not been out for Sunday lunch for a long time, we were not disappointed. I had scallops to start, it's always good to have the coral still attached, I feel you are short changed if the coral is not there, my wife had the smoked salmon which she enjoyed very much, at times smoked salmon can disappoint, not this time. For the main I had roast beef, of course, the roast sirloin was, for me, cooked to perfection , lovely and pink in the middle, not bloody, but cooked. My wife had Halibut, again, absolutely perfect. For dessert we had a mixture of tiramisu and cheese, both were just about right. Looking forward to going again.

The quality of the Sunday lunch was excellent as was the service. However, the vegetables were woefully underdone, particularly the sprouts. Gravy would be better served separately, our food seemed to be swimming in it. Two minor criticisms which, if attended to, would make a good meal excellent!

We have been going to the Pheasant for years. However we all agreed the new management have taken this wonderful pub to the next level. The new Menu/food is superb and the new touches to the lovely old building are great and the outside garden area is wonderful! We will certainly be returning!
