Edmond Dantes

It just so happens that the night we booked was reserved for a Spanish Evening. There was a set menu with the appetiser consisting of a selection of tapas, the main course with three choices (1) roast belly pork, chorizo, black pudding and butter bean stew (2)red pepper stuffed with artichoke, tomato, olives, herbs and rice and (3) seared tuna loin, with a sauce consisting of olives, capers, pepper and tomatoes. The desert course consisted of (1) creme catalonia con limon (2) Galician almond tart and (3) vanilla ice cream with a Pedro Ximenez sherry. All of the tapas was very nice, for the main course we selected the belly pork and the tuna both of which were delightful. For desert we had the creme catalonia which was nice but I would have preferred more lemon .The Galician almond tart was devive so light. We thoroughly enjoyed our mean and will definitely make further visits to The Pheasant.

Delicious food and very good service. Portions huge so sadly had no space for puddings which sounded lovely. Apparently you can request smaller portions, so I'll definitely do that next time and have a pudding too! Beautiful setting, lovely decor inside and nice garden. Highly recommend

Thought we’d try out the Spanish themed evening for a change. Tapas was tasty and lots of it. Tuna was cooked perfectly as was the pork. Good choice of veg and potatoes reminded us of holidays in the Canaries. Finished off sharing ice cream and crème Catalan. Good value for money.

Having been prompted by an email forwarded on from a friend we booked a table for the Spanish themed dinner last week. The tapas starters were predictable, the Tuna was cooked very well ( ie pink, to my taste), the Belly Pork was slightly over cooked. The desserts were satisfactory. Disappointingly I am told there was a deficit of Spanish wines from which to choose to accompany the meal. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Plenty of parking.

The Pheasant is an understated fantastic place to eat. Everything is great, the venue, food, value and staff with loads of spaces to park your car outside. If you are reading this review wondering if you should go there to eat, please do you’ll return again and again.

My friend and I had never visited before, but my sister recommended the Pheasant to me. It did not disappoint in any way. Building beautiful, food excellent, service good and staff friendly. Had a wonderful afternoon on the patio as it was a glorious day weather-wise.

We used to go to the Pheasant regularly but Covid, lockdown etc. stopped us doing so and we decided we would like to go again for a Sunday lunch with two close friends as a part of our wedding anniversary celebration. The staff were great, very accommodating and helpful though some of the team were not particularly well trained, leaving us having to ask repeatedly for condiments, water, drinks etc. The outside area was lovely but sadly, the food was not particularly good with salads somewhat Caesar salads quite lacklustre and the roast lunch being particularly disappointing. Over cooked vegetables and fairly bland roast beef.

Sunday lunch yesterday was as wonderful as always. Nothing was too much trouble for the restaurant staff to ensure we had a 1st class eating experience. Great atmosphere in the dining room, then outside for cooling beverages in the beautiful sunshine ...

We visited for Sunday lunch with the family, service, atmosphere, staff were all excellent. We all enjoyed the food including our 9 year old Granddaughter, my only criticism would be the roast potatoes didn’t live up to expectations.

We had a lovely evening all 12 of us for my 70th birthday 27/05/23. Seated in the ‘ old restaurant’ added to the atmosphere and gave us a superb private party feel ! The food was excellent served by attentive staff who looked after our every need. The extensive wine list was reasonably priced and this all paved the way for a most relaxing evening not having to worry if everyone was okay. Many thanks to the Pheasant team, I know all those in our party would thoroughly recommend it !!

5 star! Favourite place of the FIL, which on its own speaks volumes!! Been here several times and every time the service and food quality is second to none, it's not the cheapest place but completely value for money. Try the Shipyard Lager, it's great. This time we were seated at the back of the restaurant and it was a bit less atmospheric than usual when we were seated in what I consider a better place but please don't think the general atmosphere is not lovely and quintessential village pub vibey.

I had a very nice Sunday lunch although the restaurant was very quiet it suited me as I felt uncomfortable eating alone for the first time but the staff were very kind. The roast lamb was excellent as was all the vegetables a little bit Mir gravy would have been nice especially on the Yorkshire pudding
