Oscars of Cowbridge – Cowbridgeall i can say is this place is to die for ring now and book day or night the food is a dream the place is the word
Coast Restaurant – Porthcawllong wait for table even though we booked but it was worth the wait the staff made the evening for us and the food was the best. u need to try this place
La Marina Restaurant – Penarthgood food great atmosphere a bit pricey but a huge wine list staff were attentive
Braseria El Prado – BridgendI went to this restaurant with high expectations, after hearing so much about it from family and friends. I am glad to say that I was not disappointed. The bar and waitressing staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious with a wide selection to choose from (including Ostrich!). Not to mention that the pub is entirely non - smoking. If you?e looking for an enjoyable evening then this is the place for you. Sarah
Castle Inn – MonmouthBest Italian I have been to in South Wales, without doubt. Meat, fish and pasta dishes all freshly prepared and of excellent quality. Lovely setting especially in the summer.
Giulianos – BarryI would recommend this restaurant to all the Indian food lovers as the food here is absolutely gorgeous and it is irresistible. The Waiters here are entertaining and the manager is a nice guy to get along with. He is very welcoming. The price in this restaurant i think is average as it has been affordable. I personally think that this restaurant could be one of the best in Llanelli.
Bengal Lancer – LlanelliExcellent lunch just prior to Christmas, starters superb, main course wonderful. Very good food, more than ample portions and very good value for money.
Cross Oak, The – BlackwoodExcellent food, fresh, local and tasty. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Hall Inn, The – Monmouththis is the first time i had a good Italian meal in Cardiff. service is too good to be true. highly recommended
Casanova Italian Restaurant – CardiffExcellent Indian cuisine, very large portion sizes and excellent service. Drop in and give it a try.
Pengam Indian Cuisine – BlackwoodWe went back two nights in a row to get wonderful Balti food that is not available in our area in the U.S. We would have gone back yet another time, but they were closed.
Anarkali Tandoori Restaurant – SwanseaNow while we get the same old fayre in these restaurants we rarely get service of a higher degree but I am glad to say that here we do. Whilst the standard of this restaurant when it first opened was lacking in the personal touch I think that someone must have joined the management with a heart and listened to what people have complained about. If I wrote this when it opened it would have been a different story but now you can expect good service in a good atmosphere. The management now deal with problems in a fast and efficient way as someone when I was there complained that they had to wait too long. Even though they were full to capacity they were still friendly to the customer and did their best to help. The food was standard Brewers Fayre quality and is OK but the service made up for it. The children? Play Factory was good to keep the kids entertained while the adults had a chat.
Tirfounder Fields Brewers Fayre – AberdareNow we should expect for a Hotel to pay a higher price for a better meal and this was the case here. The meal was to be honest very good and the surroundings were lovely and warm. There does unfortunately be a down side and that was that the staff were not as welcoming as the surroundings. We felt that even though the place was only half full we felt that we was given only poor service. A tip which is normally about 10% and with in mind the cost of the meal was quite high was only 5% at the end due to this service. Food great, surroundings Great but needs more work on the service.
Nant Ddu Lodge Hotel – Merthyr TydfilNow we should expect for a Hotel to pay a higher price for a better meal and this was the case here. Nant Ddu Lodge Hotel – Merthyr TydfilNow we come across many Indian restaurants in Wales and some are large chains and some smaller family type restaurants this one falls into the latter. Whilst it is not a large establishment it must rank in the most welcoming and best food available in Cardiff. The food was presented in a classic Indian way and well garnished and the selection of foods were excellent. I as usual asked for something not on the menu to see if they are flexible and this was ordered and arrived better than I expected. Quality service cost not much more but means a lot to customers and I for one was most impressed. If you want a quiet night out in nice welcoming surroundings then this is the place. My only down point was that when I dine in an Indian Restaurant I like to have the cultures music playing quietly in the background but this was missing and only popular music was being played. Many thanks for a great night out.
Spice Island – CardiffJust your average quality Brewers Fayre type food. It's the location which makes this place (right on the beach) however the quietness and ambiance is often wrecked by the hoards of screaming children! Great place for families though needless to say, and for a swift pint outside on a summer's evening for the adults!
Captains Wife Brewers Fayre – PenarthFood here is usually ok, however sometimes they have a tendency to burn it! It's in a lovely situation literally jutting out into the water of Cardiff Bay, however don't sit outside in the summer unless you want to be eaten alive by the mozzies! Service is usually good, however there is always a feeling of being rushed in and out, as they operate two sittings so it's hard to relax and enjoy your meal when you know you only have limited time. Price is moderate, however they do cheaper lunchtime menus which are good value for money.
