Cafe India – NeathWe had a works night for 24 people and everyone enjoyed their meals which ranged from Xmas dinner to an a la carte menu. I would recommend it to others, great atmosphere and the staff were very efficient!
Curros Restaurant – NewportIn past visits the food varied from good to terrible. On my most recent (3 weeks ago) I found the food was very good and the waiters very attentive. But BEWARE the watered down spirits. I ordered a large Gran Marnier with my coffee. It tasted of weak sugary water. The barman claimed he didn't drink so wouldn't know what it was supposed to taste like, and didn't offer a replacement or refund. I didn't make a fuss; just left without leaving the £5 tip which the waiters deserved but which covered instead the cost of my "Gran Marnier." I would re-visit because the food was OK but wouldn't let them get away with it a 2nd time.
Lord Tonypandy Brewers Fayre – TonypandyThe food was outstanding which pleased every one of the guests. Once a month the establishment runs a three course meal with entertainment for just twelve pounds so far - fabulous, well worth a visit!
Islwyn Inn and Restaurant – BlackwoodEven though it was expensive we had a lovely time, nice to treat yourself. The meal was lovely and nothing was rushed we all felt very welcome we?l go again but will have to save.
Junction 28 – NewportMy husband took me for a meal to the Gwyn Arms on a very wet and windy Wednesday last week. We decided on trying the Gwyn Arms as the landlord had very kindly forwarded a copy of their menu to us the week before, (unlike some 'posher' restaurants in the nearer area- beginning with L....... I was told by that establishment they only had leather bound menus and could not forward one!! Their loss on custom, as I shan't be going there.) Anyway back to our meal. We could have had a fab choice of a Christmas menu which was amazing!!! But decided to have steaks as we didn't think we could do a larger menu justice. The meals are all freshly prepared (no curly salads or dried up chips here). The meal arrived and was outstanding in both value and taste the steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and not as the chef thinks it should, be as in some places! The chips were fresh and so was the salad, we really enjoyed our meal and the ambience of the Gwyn, it is as if you are in your own home complete with Christmas tree and fire. You are not rushed through your meal or off your table. It was busy but not uncomfortable in any way. Thank you for a great time, we will be back.
Gwyn Arms, The – SwanseaFood was tasty and reasonably priced. One of our main dishes did not arrive because staff had failed to order it or charge for it. Staff apologised and put the order through at no charge, which we felt was a good gesture and more than made up for the mistake. Good restaurants to go to if you have small children. A very good children? play area available with a monitor in the restaurant keeping an eye on the children? area.
Sandpiper Brewers Fayre – LlanelliFabulous food and service! have been back every week since i first went there!
Vojon – SwanseaWhat can I say! Put simply, if you haven't dined here yet then you're definitely missing out. Great menu, varied and caters for different diets (an important factor for not just veggies but allergies and diabetes etc.). Attention to culinary details and recipes unique to the family owned and run business. A pleasure and a treat!
Cionis Bistro and Pizzeria Restaurant – PenarthSunday roast at the Gallery is fantastic. The beef I had was perfectly cooked and the three courses were great value for money. I would definitely recommend anyone to drop by the Gallery on a Sunday.
