We also felt the prices were higher and portions were smaller. Nevertheless it would not stop us from returning.

The Copper Pot – CardiganOn holiday on the West Coast, we were looking for a spot for an anniversary meal, and stumbled across Ilys Meddyg. Both my wife and I are in the trade, and we found the visit nothing short of inspirational. Setting was fabulous; smart but cosy, good large tables, and a beautifully balanced ambience. Service immaculate and well timed, and made to feel thoroughly at home by staff who are clearly immensely (and rightly!!) proud of their produce. Food was simply stunning.Every cut of fish and meat melted in the mouth, all the sauces and vegetables oozed freshness. Unsurprisingly, we were told that literally the whole menu is sourced locally and prepared fresh. This kind of pride and attention to detail is rare, especially at this very reasonable price point. We could not reccommend this immaculate establishment more, and eagerly look ahead to next year when we can return. Thank you to the whole team, this place is quite special.

Llys Meddyg Pembrokeshire – NewportWe have stayed in Llys Meddyg many times and enjoyed eating there. Yesterday’s dinner was excellent: the best we’ve had in a long time. We had plaice and cod. It was well cooked and imaginatively presented with a generous portion of garden vegetables. The bread we had with the olives was unlike anything we’d had before — in a good way. Five stars for that meal.
