We had a very enjoyable meal here. No intrusive music, or loud office parties, and excellent food. However I can't give it 5/5 because I resent being asked to buy all the components of a main course separately. I ordered the belly pork, which I can't fault. But who eats just meat alone? The "side orders" aren't optional for most people - potatoes and a green vegetable serving are an essential I would say. So a £22 main course suddenly becomes a £30 main course. Why not be honest and just price a whole meal? For people wanting something beyond the basic "burgers and chips" or "fish and chips" (the staples of just about every pub for miles around it seems), then this is a refreshing change. I have no quibble with the final bill, and if you want something more than basic pub food then this isn't to be missed. They appear to have no competitors in the area that we could find.

Really great food and lovely service. I had the duck; my partner had the tofu massaman curry. We will be back!

Amazing food! Great friendly staff and a lovely little robin even came in to see us! The restaurant was calm, friendly and outstanding. Will definitely be back. It never fails to please and the whole experience is relaxing enjoyable and food is cooked to perfection. Thank you all.

Great location, setting and atmosphere. Barman very good, if restricted by the management in the variety of cocktails he was able to offer, although he was clearly capable of mixing them. Beers could be a lot better with some real ale on offer. Waiting staff also excellent; we were very well looked after, thank you. Food though is overly fussy with far too much effort in "presentation" and over complication on ALL the dishes. A few efforts at Michelin stardom is ok, but sometimes simple dishes, done well with great ingredients is what really shows a chef's ability. Brocoli was too undercooked - we couldn't cut it!

We visited Saturday evening, we were treating our son and daughter who were visiting the area. It was our first visit for many years and we were surprised at how the venue had grown and developed. The outside area is especially pleasing. However we waited a long time before our first courses which were tasty and well presented but rather small. We then waited a very long time for our main course. Apologies were made that there was a rather large party to deal with. This is the kitchens problem and I don’t think we should suffer because the kitchen couldn’t cope. Our main courses were tasty but small and our side order didn’t appear. The treacle tarts were delicious but my lemon custard was far too bitter and I couldn’t eat it. Dessert spoons couldn’t be found so we were offered teaspoons. We were not offered any compensation, not even a glass of wine. It was not the standard of service you could be proud of.

Second time I’ve been to the kookaba and I will definitely be back again. Food (and cocktails) were delicious , fantastic service and great value for money , definitely recommended but book because understandably they get very busy

Myself and 5 others booked for Saturday early evening. Totally enjoyable experience. Food was delicious and reasonable price. Staff friendly and helpful.

The food was well presented and tasty but sadly just luke warm and maybe on the small side for the price you pay. The service was very good and the setting was beautiful. Drinks and side order on the expensive side also. Overall we felt they were trying too hard to be posh instead of keeping it simple and chill .

The service and food we ate was a real treat. The waitress kept the fire pit and our drinks topped up whenever needed Attention to detail on the food was excellent, delicious without any over seasoning, well done. Staffing can always have its problems but who ever catered for us was first class

The two of us came for Sunday lunch, out in one of the pods. Between us we had one starter, one Sunday roast, and two sweets. The starter was excellent, roast beef was pretty good (there's only so much you can do with a Sunday lunch!), and the sweets were also excellent. All in all, we had a pair of happy tummies afterwards, and enjoyed the lovely garden setting.

Came for Sunday lunch with our dog. Excellent setting, in a pod outside. Great food and service.

Amazing food and service, every time!

The best afternoon tea we have had ! Delicious sandwiches and scone so full took the cakes home to enjoy later highly recommend

Everything was perfect- the food was outstanding with lots of choice, even if vegetarian and gluten free! Every item tasted fresh and just baked. The service was fabulous- really helpful waitress who was clearly serving everyone but nothing was too much trouble.
