Excellent traditional country pub, very welcoming and accomodating. Staff very cheerful , chatty and friendly. Pint of John Smith's went down very nicely, well kept with good head. Food was so good very tasty and filling, good sized portions. Sincerely well worth a visit or few. Will be back when next at motorhome/caravan site later in year.

We had an amazing meal here, food was delicious. If I could give the staff a rating of 10 out of 5 I would. They went above and beyond. Great atmosphere but the noise levels made it difficult to have a proper conversation.

We were visiting Carlisle for a concert, so I booked a table using the restaurant's online booking service which worked remarkably well. We arrived at the restaurant on time and were shown to our table. It should be noted that this restaurant is an intimate dining experience as the dining room isn't huge, however, the food is worth the wait. Part of my small party of four are regular visitors to Rome as their family is a mix of Italian and English. If you're visiting Carlisle, be it for a short stay or extended visit, and want to experience a lovely dining experience with authentic Italian food, you won't go wrong in choosing this restaurant for lunch or an evening meal. PS. You won't get stung for a basket of bread or a carafe of water on the table either!

We ate on the 22nd again the meal for the 3 in our part was delicious no complaints from starter to sweet. My son were here on holiday he said what a gem of a restaurant it was. And apart from the fantastic chef the staff are so nice, look forward to going again soon. I give 10 out of 10
