Booked online for a table for 4 at 8 o'clock in the restaurant. Arrived just before eight to be seated in the garden room (marque outside) There were heaters but not pointing our way. I asked why seated here as booked restaurant to be told the online booking doesn't define where you sit (Mmmmmm, I doubt that is the case as the booking system asked which part of the restaurant you want to be seated, restaurant, garden room etc???) Food was tasty though and I know its tapas but the dishes did take some time to all come out. Some finished before all served.

We were spending the night nearby & after a recommendation & checking out the menu online we decided to eat here. The food was beautiful, the atmosphere was spot on & although the staff were quite young they were doing a fab job of keeping everything running smoothly & couldn’t have been more attentive!

this is 3rd time been in past month and wife absolutely loves the fish mixed grill. i had the gammon with eggs and chips. Omg delicious i only orderd it as guy on nxt table had it . The girls who serve on are so helpful giving advice on certain dishes to try and quick and friendly service . Cant fault the place , just great food service and value for money. Not massive portions that outface you just tehright amount . well be going again

My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant luncheon here on a Friday. The atmosphere was very relaxed yet the staff were very efficient and pleasant. Food was great and the conservatory dining area very nice. All in all an enjoyable day. We will be returning frequently. I have no hesitations about recommending it.

Came here a few days ago for tapas with friends. Super nice atmosphere, friendly service, and amazing food. There was a live music performance as well, which was a nice addition (although it was a bit loud because we were sitting close)!

Wow what can I say me and my husband had heard good things about lilac cottage and thought for our 25th anniversary we would give it a go and we wasn't disappointed it was amazing so much food outstanding quality and the staff was so attentive nothing was to much trouble we will definitely be back.

Definitely our favourite restaurant on the Wirral. Love the food, love the atmosphere. Nice staff, will be back :-)

We visited as a family with our dog, last Sunday. We sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was good and the service was efficient. We will be returning.

We went last night for a bank holiday meal out. Lovely atmosphere, a little wait on the food but good service. Food was ok, I would say after the wait it wasn’t the best but not the worst I’ve had either. I had the bangers and mash but my hubby had the pie and loved it. Kids dinners were good portions and everyone loved their desserts. I would recommend blue light card or nhs discount and also to be able to take cash and not just card.

Great food at very reasonable prices. Super waitress service at the table. Lovely atmosphere in the Oak.
