I have eaten here on a few occasions and the food is fabulous, a little bit pricey for some dishes but very nice indeed. I think i could recommend here for occasional dining on purely on pricing. They have a good selection of beers and wines and friendly staff.

Had a meat at the Red Lion with my Wife and son this Mothers Day and honestly we were all very disappointed. The section we sat in although clean lacked any real atmosphere. The service was OK without any genuine feeling of warmth. However the food was very disappointing. My wife's fish and chips and son's scampi were both of the frozen variety which was a let down for a place that advertises itself as sourcing local products and even more so at around £10 each. My steak pie in ale had a slight underlying taste of vinegar to it which ruined the overall flavour and again the real chips were frozen. The only fresh produce I detected were the side vegetables which were actually well cooked, having a slight crunch to them, although they still managed to ruin the cauliflower which had a slight taste of cooking fat to it? Sorry I would love to be writing a good review for this but overall we thought it was very poor, contrary to many of the reviews we have read.

Excellent food and friendly staff. Love the poppadoms and dips. Good explanations of how hot the dishes are, which is helpful.

This is truly the best Chinese food I've ever tasted! Friendly staff and super fresh produce combine to give an experience worth a million dollars. it's not cheap but you get what you pay for in an easy-going setting. I won't go anywhere else when I'm celebrating anything.

Under new management, food excellent, freshly cooked and a good price. Unfortunately no one else in so didn't feel very welcoming, give it a go.

Well this was the first time I've visited since it reopened having been recommended by neighbour. I ordered Chicken tikka I must say I've never had one like that in my life, the chicken was not cubed the veg chunky loads of tomatoes and peppers no curry type flavour at all, when I asked had I been give the wrong meal the lovely young lady said she'd take it back and check? was then told by a very rude man that's how they made it there from tika paste? the desserts were the saving grace of my celebration meal,

Just want to say a big thank you to all the staff at Marco Marco for making my 40th birthday so special . Food was excellent and especially loved being embarrassed by all the staff singing to me and the chefs banging their pans together ! keep up the good work guys

Charming little place, really. Took my missus (big lady) here with our three mongrels (the staff didn't mind our muts being there and even wiped Terry's paw when he put it in my spaghetti, always the sign of a fine establishment). The foie gras pork pie was innovative and delicious. I would have loved to try the Chateux Plon D'Vie but waiter Giovanni recommended a bottle of Tizer to share. Overall, an extraordinary night, thank you the Daten.

I have been twice recently to the Nags Head for a meal. Excellent food quality and service. Red Poll beef is excellent. If you just want a drink there is a lovely lounge area with comfy sofas and warm fire and TV if you want it.

We have been dining here for years, the food was always very good but the service lacked sparkle once you were served, there was very little proactivity from the staff, they seemed to want you to finish your meal and leave. However, just lately the food is terrible, we sent my wifes canelloni back as it was cold in the middle and when it returned it was burned, we refused to pay for it. Several other diners sent their food back on the same evening. What was a reasonable priced restaurant with an 'eat and leave' attitude has now become a no go. Shame.

I have to say it is very rare i will go to the extreme of taking time out to leave reviews about places we have eaten but really felt the need to do this after visiting Vatikka, Indian is my favourite food and since moving to Widnes five years ago have tried a few but none had ticked all the boxes, however after dining in Vatikka one Saturday evening i commented to my husband "we found the one". we ordered our first delivery this weekend and it was quite simply divine so much so i didn't leave any for breakfast the next morning, soooooo delighted we have found our favourite Indian here in Widnes and don't feel the need to drive out of town anymore. well done Vatikka.xx

the carvery i find good but plain, but the chicken in sauce was absolutely beautiful, and the melt in the middle chocolate pudding is to die fore, prices very good as well, i wish they had a dish where you had a choice of sauces to have with any dish you order, well worth a visit.
