Simply the Best11 years of consistently outstanding service and food.The food is simply cooked and presented perfectly and the set menu at just under £10 is value that is hard to beat.

Visited for the first time last Friday and guarantee that this will not be the last time i eat there. I agree wholeheartedly with the other reviews, this is a hidden gem in the heart of Chorley The food was fantastic, reasonably priced for the high standard and was greatly enhanced by the service and atmosphere. The cocktail bar after the meal was very cosy and finished off a really great night. Highly recommended.Thanks to all at the restaurant.

we went in November after the refurb. the food was delicious, i had the ribs and they fell off the bone, my grandchild wanted chicken nuggets but this is not a option on the childs menu. very enjoyable

Great food, great service !

We used to visit P & Ps a lot, but we really have been disappointed the last few times. The music is so loud that you cannot hear your guests and we had to ask them to turn it down in the past. We went Friday 25/11/2011 and someone else had to ask for it to be turned down. You go for a nice meal and relaxation, not a disco. Pizzas there are normally spot on but were quite soggy this time.

I have been to the Italian Cottage a number of time recently both alone and with friends and have never been disappointed. The delightful ambience, the service is excellent, attentive without being overpowering and ,of course, the food both Italian and English menus are all top of the range; can't fault it in any way.Even in today's difficult economic circumstances they are always busy; surely testament to its quality. It is advisable to book.Jonjo.

Went to Truffles in October 2011. What a fantastic find. We had a superb meal and found everyone pleasant and attentive. The chef/patron James deserves to do well and if you haven't tried this restaurant yet - why not!!!!!

We have been new season tapas and cocktail bar last week we had fantastic atmosphere the staff was so friendly and service was so good there was a guy from turkey he was so good at his job and work so hard he does an excellent job in there

We just have to say that The Dressers Arms DEFINITELY has the BEST steak night deal in the Chorley area - we know as we have try them all on a regular basis !!!We always get a quality wine here and a very good steak or gammon. With a very good meal/wine, excellent service all in a very beautiful pub makes this a clear winner.Keep up the good work.

My family and I recently ate at the Hartwood and although I would love to give it a good review with its lovely interior and friendly staff the same cannot be said for the food. All I ordered was sirloin steak and yes when the order was taken I was asked how would I like it cooked. I advised medium yet when it arrived it looked as though it had been run over by a bus, The steak was fatty and unfortunately very chewy. I would have to say that I don't think I will be recommending it to friends or family however the staff were very friendly.

Regular visitor now to Luciano's....the food has been delicious every time we have dined there. The service is first class. Really would recommend this place.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday along with our 2 year old son. The staff where very friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. We have recommended the restaurant to family and friends and will be visiting again.

I have recently been to the Pines, I have to say that it has really let its standards slip. The food wasn't the best and from what I believe the owner is struggling to pay the rent..maybe this is the end of the Pines? What a shame!!

We have been to Amelies several times as we are lucky enough to live nearby. The food and service is consistently good with a wide choice for vegetarians and vegans. Don't expect ultra swish, the decor is very quirky and some rooms a little shabby but that all adds to the interest. Anna Maria is a natural host and makes you feel at home very quickly. The house rose is highly recommended and is good value.

Went to Amelies on Saturday September 24th for a family birthday. All seven guests were thoroughly delighted with the food, the staff and the restaurant although some of the wine is overpriced. Will definitely go again.

We have not been to Alghero's for some time but we remember how much we enjoyed it the last time we visited so i decided to book a surprise meal for our Wedding Anniversary. I knew that it maybe quiet being midweek so the atmosphere would not be vibrant but when we arrived there was 2 other couples and 1 more arrived and that was it, but this is no reflection on the restaurant itself as i said it was mid week. My wife and I ordered different courses as we usually do so we can sample each others and get a true taste of the culinary delights. The Starters were fine but when our 2 different steaks arrived they were actually swimming in sauce to the extent that you could not see the steak. I had the Fillet while my wife had the Sirloin and we both like them cooked medium to rare but we both received them medium to well done. Our potatoes arrived on a separate dish which we were served the potatoes and then the remaining potatoes were taken away, Why?? The vegetables also cam on a dish which were not served to us but we had to serve them ourselves (no big hardship) but a contrast to the potatoes! We ordered a dessert between us which was not brilliant and we both felt very let down by the standard of the cuisine and service level and when we went to pay the bill, the lady behind the till asked us if everything was alright with the meal etc, so when we said NO, she just said " Oh Dear" and that was that! It maybe just a one-off glitch? as we have enjoyed evenings there before, but it will be a long time before we may consider another meal there!
