Myself and a friend tried the Railway for lunch as we heard it had changed hands and had a new menu. I had the steamed steak pudding with tarragon mash and carrots, and my friend had the fish and chips. Both meals were outstanding, tasty and beautifully presented we were both impressed. We especially liked how the menu states where the produce has come from, all local, brilliant! The pub has a cosy inviting atmosphere and the service matched the food, excellent. We will definitely be going back.

Good food but poor service. Asked for me and my pregnant wife to be moved out of a cold corner that was near the coat room only to be told by the manager that there was no more tables available. The empty table we asked to be moved to was still empty over one hour later!!

food was poor, and chef appeared to be drunk and loud almost interfering in our family outing, service was excellent and the head waiter was very hospitable it would be worth going back just for him.

My partner & I have dined at New Seasons several times & have always thoroughly enjoyed it. When I needed to organise somewhere for a work meeting I could not have imagined how perfect New Seasons would be. They have a room upstairs which is fab - beautifully decorated with a roaring fire (just what is needed on a cold December night). The staff were attentive whilst allowing our meeting to go uninterrupted and the food was exquisite - all my work colleagues commented on what a wonderful place it was. The owners are incredibly helpful and I would have no problem with recommending New Seasons to anyone!

BOTH LINDA, MYSELF, OUR FRIENDS, OUR BUSINESS CUSTOMERS AND FAMILY HAVE ALL DINED AT THE RAILWAY AND IN FACT LINDA AND MYSELF DINE THERE AT LEAST ONCE IF NOT TWICE A WEEK. I CANT SPEAK HIGHLY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS VENUE. THE STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND CANT DO ENOUGH FOR YOU. IF YOU HAVENT TRIED THIS PLACE YOUR MISSING OUT.GREAT MENU AND ALWAYS VARIOUS SPECIALS AVAILABLE."TWELVE OUT OF TEN"

The wife and i went for a meal here last night and to be honest it was awful, the starters were king prawns in garlic for the wife and i had mushrooms in garlic, the mushrooms looked like iceland fry ups and came just with mayonnaise and the prawns were just grilled, we complained and they took no notice, when the main course came i asked about the starters and the manageress came across all stroppy and said she would write it off the bill, the main course was equally as bad my meal was steak and mushrooms with chips ans salad, the wife had chili con carne with garlic bread,the steak and mushrooms came in what ide describe as a pate pot and resembled thick gravy and the chillie came with no bread, so i spoke to the manager again and at this point he sent three of his staff to clear our table and we were asked to pay for the drinks and leave, ive never been so embarrasses in my life, avoid this place.

What a shame. It could have been such a good night out. The food when it arrived was above average. The service was almost laughable. No one on the front desk, only one girl serving drinks in the bar area, my wifes main course arrived 5 minutes before mine and we had to ask for the bottle of wine we ordered 15 minutes previously. This was a 7.30 on a Tuesday, not 8.30 on a Saturday. To add insult to injury, my wife asked the manager if we could go to our table and order drinks after 15 minutes waiting at the bar. The reply was straight from a Faulty Towers script. We wont be giving them a second chance Sorry!

This little hideaway just gets better and better. We love it here! Would highly recommend

went to truffles as guests from three bells brandy as competition winners and surprise on arrival canopes(fantastic)then a hot/cold buffet salmon & chicken in white wine sauce + rice also pasta salad new pots cream pots cold mixed with spring onion salad cream & onion(the best)wholemeal bread chunks etc what a feast. the sweet was apple pie & meringue with fruit & cream(like you've never tasted) we went as freebie guests but became lovers of the place & food what lovely people & fantastic food 9/10

The service was the worst ever. Drinks were brought without trays and we waited ages! Seemed a very amateur approach. food was nice though although portions too big and again the wait was unacceptable. I won't go again.

We went here on a lovely summers evening and decided to share a bottle of rose outside before our meal - well we paid a mind boggling £18 for a bottle of Echo Falls!! £4 in the local off licence!! The food was ok but portions were small and the service very slow. Staff were pleasant but this was not enough to redeem the evening. Would not go back even though we are local.

It is very rare that I would go out of my way to write a review but after a recent visit to Dante's we were so disappointed I felt the need. The waiters were rude and unhelpful and the food poor (though the wine was very good). My smoked salmon pizza was covered in white fatty bits of what I can only assume was salmon! Throughout our meal the bright security light shone in through the window into our faces. This was something other customers also commented on to us. We were over charged which from other reviews I see is very common at this venue and friends and family have also said that they have also been overcharged in the past. When we brought this to the attention of a waiter he said he could not understand what our problem was and would not sort it out. Eventually he came back and asked what was wrong with it. We pointed out that they had put on 2 extra main courses. After waiting for the corrected bill for 15 mins we decided to go to the desk and pay. Here we were met an even ruder individual. We explained what had happen in a jovial way to then be asked 'What do you wnat me to do about it?' 'I'm sorry sir but I don't really care'. Although Dante's is a budget restaurant I still I expect a small degree of customer service and unfortunately that was not provided. Sadly, I do not recommend Dante's to anyone and be sure to check your bill!

Because we have a young family, it is not very often that my husband and I eat out in the evenings so we were really looking forward to a visit to a local restaurant. May I also say, we are not the sort of people to complain... ever. Our starter of garlic bread was burnt and the Mediterranean dips consisted of 8 thin strips of pitta bread. We decided to play safe and order pizzas which were okay although one consisted of vegetables that tasted of brine and were obviously out of a tin instead of being fresh as you would expect. We waited for 45 minutes for the bill to be brought to us and when it eventually arrived we had been charged for two extra main meals. Having read previous reviews and heard comments made by friends and family, this seems to be something that happens regularly at Dantes..... Watchdog I'll be in touch! When we politely mentioned this to the waiter we were treated like we were making a problem. After going off with the bill the same waiter returned to ask us what was wrong with it(while grabbing my husband's arm) which we thought was rather strange considering there were just two of us and 4 main meals were on the bill. When we eventually decided we should go to the desk and pay we were treated disgracefully. We explained what had happened and the gentleman firstly ignored us and then replied ' I heard what you said, what do you want me to do about it?' We will not be visiting again! It is not surprising that Dante's has become less popular with our friends and family and this must be a reflection on how others are feeling. We shall certainly not be recommending Dante's to others.

i enjoyed the meal i had with my family and they even came round and took orders for deserts from the table for a lovely little place that was nice to see the service was amazing and they had a host to show you to a table very rare for a pub restaurant i will go back

Abbey village P&P. the service is disgraceful, if you complain, you get a jumped up little girl telling you go elsewhere, the staff are lazy and ignore you. EAT ELSEWERE!

a party of 10 we went on a Friday night,8pm,was very busy, but we had a great night ,staff was very busy but managed to be very helpful, meals were all very very good (chicken livers and steak and Stilton),great to see a open kitchen with a great head chef, overall fab night, I have booked for Xmas already

Maybe we were unlucky then in terms of service as we were seated for 15 minutes before being handed a menu/offered a drink and then the starter arrived almost a full hour after initially sitting down. Couldn't fault the food though, it was beautiful!

We had a truly outstanding meal, it arrived very quickly and was piping hot and so tasty. Vegetables fresh and delicious. Service excellent and very polite. Restaurant cosy and comfortable & everybody so welcoming.
