I used to come to Barcelona tapas bar before I moved to Australia and 2005. It provided an excellent standard of food and service back in those days. 20 years later and I can report, dear reader, that those standards have not declined. It continues to be a highlight of any trip to the UK.

Great meal, friendly and attentive staff and service , great set of menu choices , authentic Spanish Tapas , definitely one to visit and enjoy , we had a great evening .

Food was nice, staff were friendly and good atmosphere, but this restaurant charges premium prices for a less than premium feel. Menus were dirty and ripped from previous use, service was painfully slow, portions were tasty but not large and we were shocked to see the final bill come to so much considering the general more friendly vibe of the restaurant.

Great food and attentive service - the set shared tapas selections are excellent and plentiful and we all enjoyed the sangria.

Excellent. Great service. All courses tapas good but gambas sensational. Sat night live music great guitarist too.

Visited here a coupe of times, it's now my wife's favourite tapas spot. The food is always delicious, the service impeccable. Perfect for a decent dinner, but definitely a treat spot, as Central London prices.

Ate late Saturday evening when the place was very quiet. Food and service good. Worked out at £50 a head for paella, tapas and half a bottle of wine each, so not bad for central London.

Nice atmosphere, good location. Food is quite mediocre. Not good value for money unfortunately.

I have been to Barcelona restaurant near Aldgate for dinner several times now and always had a great meal. Good value and good quality.

Fine tapas served in a lovely location. Good staff Was greeted on arrival by who I think was the owner. Very friendly Lovely server whose Spanish was a lot better than mine. There was a singer with a guitar who was very enjoyable

We booked our work Christmas team night out here for 32 people and when we arrived, we were seated across 3 tables and there were only 20 seats! I spoke to the waitress who confirmed yes 32 people and I had to explain that there wasn't enough seats. They brought out an additional small table for 2 to put on the end of a table and gave us another table for 10 which was away from the group. It then took 45 minutes for drinks to arrive and we had to constantly chase. When the food arrived it was amazing, however the restaurant had clearly overbooked / didn't have enough staff working to cope with the demand of large groups and a fully booked restaurant a week before Christmas. The toilets were blocked and even though I brought this to someone's attention, it was not fixed and the disabled toilet was used as a coat closest so my boss who is disabled, could not use the facility. Furthermore we opted for the Christmas set menu and 2 hours into our booking had to start to leave as we had something we needed to leave to go to. The set menu was something we had to pre book so no food options were taken whilst there on the night. We were told that we couldn't get the bill yet as dessert was coming out so when the bill did arrive, we had to pay and go so not to be late for our event. The next morning I noticed we had been charged £70 extra for dessert that we did not order or actually want as it was not included in the set menu and it was not something I had pre ordered. Due to the mess up and delays we had we assumed it was a gesture of goodwill, however it wasn't. Overall the food was good and I would return along as I just needed a table for 2!

We visited as a couple and had a very enjoyable evening. We couldn’t be in Barcelona but this was a great alternative! The Tapas menu was great and the servers introduced each course with a flourish which was fun. We love Sapenish and this food was really good. The live music (we were there on a Friday) really added to the atmosphere - although they were up on the balcony and we had to hunt out where they were. Great music, atmosphere, food and wine! We loved the draft beer (and white wine!!). Recommended - but do book. N

I will start with the basics. Service was not only good it was great! Staff were attentive at all times. They provided recommendations, there was a genuine smile with each plate the placed at the table. They were interactive and polite at all times. The food was so tasty, authentic to the taste, opinionated reviewer as being Spanish I look for the seasoning my mum always plates at home. I’m usually so underwhelmed by so many tapas restaurants and they lack the right seasoning and lack the authentic taste. This did not fail. The ambiance was good and the place is clean and organised

Had a fantastic evening, wonderfully looked after by all the staff. Great care was taken to prepare the paella exactly how we liked it and all the food was lovely. I hadn’t visited for many years but am delighted to find it as wonderful as my memories. I will be back and won’t leave it so long next time.

Excellent! The food was delicious and the staff were so lovely and welcoming! I would defo recommend the Gambas & of course the Patatas. The meatballs are a must also! Will be going back!!
