This is our special occasion restaurant, our last visit was with our daughter, grandkids and meeting her new chap for her birthday. The steaks are absolutely fantastic (poor grandkids didn't know what they were missing. Its a quirky place where every chair and table is different which just adds to the atmosphere. The only thing stopping us from staying at the hotel is we only live 10 miles down the road in the Beautiful forest of Bowland. Free birthday drink for our daughter too. Would definitely recommend it

The Red Pump is at the heart of a small rural village just outsdie Clitheroe. A warm very friendly greeting awaits as you enter. Mine host Fran is great and teh staff are attentive, smart in appearance and don't have a lot of tattooes or body piercings which is very important to us. Both bar and restuarant areas are well maintained, clean, tidy and laid out in the correct manner. The food was superbly presented and was washed down with a very well recommended red wine. Great value and the steaks were cooked to perfection. We took friends who were not disappointed and we will be back for sure, sooner rather than later. I have recommended it to friends. Very difficult to fault anything on our visit.

Special place for a special occasion. Excellent service, great atmosphere and yummy food.

Great lunch excellent staff and food highly recommend

We three had an excellent Sunday lunch yesterday. The staff were friendly, the service excellent and the roast beef carvery tasty and enjoyable. There was a wide range of drinks available and the seating was comfortable. We hope to return in the near future.

We went on Saturday night, 6 of us. One of which was daft enough not to have the steak. Nothing wrong with the non steak options, but the steaks are award winning. Love this place for a special night out.

Sunday lunch/dinner on this was very enjoyable with plenty of choice and superb quality. Red Pump Inn is a lovely countryside establishment and therefore a pleasure to visit in all 4 seasons.

As always excellent food and service. A little gem in the midst of beautiful countryside.

Another very enjoyable meal here. My gammon was a very good traditional gammon steak well cooked. My wife's goujons were also very good but the portion was a bit small. Puddings were of a high quality and a little out of the ordinary. Unfortunately they had an electrical problem which put a time constraint on the meal

Once again, excellent food the staff and service were also excellent. We have stayed and eaten at the 3 Millstones several times over the years and the standard as never dropped. Looking forward to our next visit.

We arrived early for our booking and the staff were very accommodating. Sunday lunch was 10/10. The young waitresses were all very professional - shame it is not our local....... We are an hour away.

Really great meal Had the Sunday lunch (lamb) with a starter and dessert. Well priced and excellent service. Absolutely recommend it (already have)

We had a lovely lunch at The Red Pump Inn, yesterday. The rib eye steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked, just as we’d ordered. We also had pudding which was equally delicious, followed by good coffee. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and service good. I hope they light the fire in the dining room as the colder weather arrives, which will also add to the ambiance of the restaurant. SB

This is a lovely pub with log fires, cosy nooks and delicious food. I don't drink beer but the gent at the next table told me they have a great selection! Very friendly staff too. We stayed in the old Post Office which was beautifully decorated and huge compared to most places. Downham is a really pretty village at the foot of Pendle Hill, famous for its witches and magic. We will be back to climb the hill. Just not at night!
