Had a great meal at The Blue Anchor.. the service was amazing & well informed of dishes.. a very cosy atmosphere & quite romantic to be perfectly honest. The only negative was myself & the table behind us had to put our jackets on as we were sitting in the overflow restaurant which was just as beautiful as the main restaurant but was quite cold … I had a draught on my leg where there was a gap in the wall .. I didn’t see any heating like the main restaurant that had a log burner that was the only negative… however would definitely recommend & we will return but will ask for table in main restaurant..

My son decided on birthday breakfast at The Barn for his 16th birthday. There were 14 of us altogether. The Barn requested we send our orders 48 hours before hand. Although this was done, there were still some mistakes- we asked for no mushrooms on one plate and there were still mushrooms there and we also asked for one of the eggs to be well done as my sister is pregnant and this didn’t happen. And the plate had to be sent back. The staff were amazing and constantly ensured we were all okay. However, we were slightly disappointed with the quality of the food, especially the bacon, which was hard and the mushrooms which were flavourless and rubbery. At £13-£15 per plate, you expect everything to be on point.

Another fabulous meal here. Love the specials that change so regularly and the friendly staff. Can highly recommend.

I had the special fish dish with hake, it was delicious. Staff were pleasant and food arrived quickly Atmosphere welcoming and warm on a cold spring morning. Overall a lovely lunch and will return again very soon.

Popped in for some lunch on Saturday and had the warm roast beef sandwich with horseradish and onion purée, it was delicious! Service was prompt and friendly. Would highly recommend The Barn.

Had a fabulous lunch with great service . Burger with loaded fries and salmon tart were sublime. Service very quick and efficient, all staff very friendly. Best lunch we have had in a long time. 8 of us had a really lovely lunch on Saturday afternoon. We were in a private dining area which was perfect, as we had kids and a new born baby with us, which meant we could relax and enjoy our meal peacefully, without worrying about disturbing others. The food was great, and the service was even better. We had such a nice waitress who was friendly, kind and helpful. We will definitely be returning soon.

Six friends and I had a lovely breakfast in your cafe. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Excellent, efficient service, lovely food and coffee, and good value for money. One of my favourite places to have breakfast locally.

Took 2 friends to the Barn for brunch yesterday. All had the Barn big breakfast and agreed the quality and value were excellent and service from the Barn’s hard working staff was 1st class.

My partner and I like to treat ourselves to a Sunday lunch out every so often after a walk with our dog. We enjoyed a lovely meal at The Hare & Hounds, food was perfect, good portions and staff were friendly and attentive. Couldn’t fault it. Will definitely be going back soon!

I don’t normally bother with these but just had to. Had such a lovely meal on Saturday night. Everything was perfect. Wasn’t busy and I don’t see why. By far the best place in the area!!!!!!! Will be back soon and can’t wait to try the desserts as was too full after our dinner. Totally recommend to everyone! Loved everything about it!
