We had a lovely meal at The Blue Anchor yesterday evening, We had the Special Steak Menu , and it was delicious. We shared the Buffalo Chicken Wings to start , which was very tasty and the blue cheese dip. We both had the RibEye steak , with chips and a glass of wine, And we shared the trio of gelato on chocolate soil, The whole meal was amazing And the service was very good So very happy, thankyou .

The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterI have visited this cafe many many times. However recently I have become lactose intolerant so was intrigued as to what was available on the lunch menu. I basically had the choice of one vegan item (Buddha bowl) or chips. I put dairy free on the booking, however no one mentioned that when taking my order so that seemed a bit pointless The food has always been fairly good. Slightly over priced compared to other similar establishments. It’s a popular cafe and always seems full. The cakes are always good

Lots of opportunities to purchase drinks at our table and at the small bar in the party room. The food was served hot with plenty of it and very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meals. It was lovely to move into the party room dance off all the food. Brilliant value for money and all said that they wanted to return next year! Thank you Blue Anchor for looking after us and for making the booking easy to arrange FABULOUS!!

All requests catered for including GF options. The Blue Anchor has a beautiful interior and a great ambience. We have been here many times and never disappointed.

The Blue Anchor – ColchesterA group of 8 friends meet here once a month for tea and cake. The staff are all lovely and helpful, and the cakes are very nice. Unfortunately, we have requested the restaurant stocks Red Bush (Rooibos) tea as most of us normally drink this tea. Despite many requests, once actually buying a box of Red Bush for the restaurant and two emails, they still do not stock it. The restaurant use Teapigs tea and I know that Teapigs sell Redbush teas, so I don't understand why they can't action our request.
