It was my first time visiting The Blue Anchor with my sister . What a fantastic meal we had, couldn’t fault it . The waiting staff were polite , attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I came straight home and booked for Sunday lunch in the New Year .

Although the food was as good as it always is we found the menu slightly more restrictive this visit as we didn't want a dinner.We all felt we would have liked another couple of sandwich options or panini.

The menu offered a varied selection but some items were worded overly fancy for the kind of restaurant I feel is the Blue Anchor. The food was not great, dry tasteless steak, overly spiced starter and dessert was dry and tasteless, it was very disappointing. The food was presented very well and was hot but there was no flavour. I had a large coke, 50/50 share of a starter, main and dessert with coffee and that cost £55pp. I thought the price was very very steep for what it was.

Just the right amount of food, not too much, not too little - and tasted great! We weren't rushed by the staff and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend.

I always book a table to avoid disappointment and it’s lovely to have a look around the garden centre after.

Rather a bowl between 2 but guess you could end with lots left or just put on plate.. but good lovely Service was also good the girls that served always polite and friendly. Would recommend
