Booked Saturday evening expecting the 2 steaks for £30 deal. That deal apparently wasn't on (although the website said it was!) and we instead had £20 for Steak and pudding offer, which is fine if you eat dessert - I don't!! That said, the food was excellent. service was first class and the Rioja Crianza outstanding.

Good value and great food, Sunday lunches are brilliant and staff are friendly and efficient. Very nice free house pub, heartily recommend

Went for our 30th anniversary meal and the food was superb. I had the duck which was cooked to perfection and my husband had the venison pie which was equally fabulous. The waiting staff were attentive and friendly. We had a lovely time and would thoroughly recommend it.

Service was prompt and very polite, enjoyed the food we had, tasty, hot, good value for money on a Monday, and very busy.

The Miners for Sunday lunch is just fantastic. Been here 3 times now and it's always good. The way they present the food where you cut the meat yourself is novel and makes the meat stay tender and unctious. All the staff are young, friendly and enthusiastic and no one is hassling you to finish and get out, it's all very relaxed in a simple informal environment. Honestly, what's not to like! Superb!

Best Sunday lunch in the Forest. Brought a friend with us. She was so impressed. Food, hospitality and service, all first class.

Lovely food and great restaurant. Although somewhat disappointed as we booked meal as a birthday celebration and to have steak (Saturdays are steak nights), to be told at 7.15pm they had sold out of all steaks. So we chose off menu, as mentioned the food we had was lovely. However, when we asked for something extra, like an additional portion of curry sauce with our fish and chips we were told no. When we tried to order a drink at the bar we were told no, it’s table service. Food, 5 out of 5. Service 0 out of 5. We’re left to feel the customer is always wrong.

The Sunday roast beef was delicious, the best beef I have ever eaten in a restaurant.

We (husband and me) went for Sunday lunch. As usual, as we have been many times, the food was delicious, service friendly and non intrusive. The Sunday lunch boards are great, carve your meat at your table, and of course any left over they will happily wrap up for you to take home. As hubby is a vegetarian he chose the squash and beetroot wellington which he said was superb. As there was only one meat eater at the table you don’t get the whole board experience but you get the meat sliced on your plate. You do get all the extras though. I chose the Cotswold Pork - it tasted just like pork used to when I was younger, simply delicious. Highly recommend the red cabbage to, nite to chef, please don’t ever give up serving that! We didn’t have room for dessert and we had enough left overs to be wrapped up to take home for our daughter who was dog sitting. Would I recommend this hostelry 100%, but don’t tell too many others as getting a table might become hard! Well done to all at the Miners, you are culinary gods!

Superb food and excellent service. Staff were superb when our nephew, wife and 2 year old daughter's càr broke down in the car park after our meal During their 7 hour wait for a recovery vehicle, the staff found emergency taxi numbers , allowed them to use the toilet and even gave them a free soft drink We are incredibly grateful and plan to come back the next time they visit the FOD. Thank you . X

Great food, lovely staff, reasonable pricing. No complaints! Would recommend.

On arrival I was greeted with a very warm welcome from the staff. The seating is very comfortable and spacious with large tables. The menu is varied and caters for most needs with options available for specific requirements. The food was excellent and well priced, delivered in good time considering it’s cooked to order. There is a wide selection of beers, ciders, wine and spirits, also soft drinks. All drinks are reasonably priced. The pub and toilets are very clean, tidy and well presented. I’ll definitely be returning and I highly recommend the Miners.
