Once again an exceptional Sunday Lunch. Food and Service was excellent as usual Just looking forward to the next visit.

I thought the main course options for weekday lunch were poor (mainly burgers of one sort or another). The food was nowhere near as exciting as when we came in the winter - yesterday it was just standard pub fare. I wish I had opted for two of the starters instead of a main course because they were more interesting.

All 1st class again as usual. Best Sunday lunch around. Mike

Sooo amazing, by far the best roast dinner around, grandparents travel from Bristol to come here as it’s the best, what tops it off you carve your own meat! Perfect sized portions and wow there sticky toffee pudding is summit else. Highly recommend

For the higher end price it wasn’t great! I would expect more. The roast potatoes were not great! The veg especially the Shredded cabbage was well just veg, I would expect some difference, I little pan of red cabbage was a nice touch but some cauliflower cheese in a little pan with some nice Savoy cabbage and leeks and buttery honey carrots would of complimented the red cabbage! Loose the boiled potatoes! Chicken was just a breast stuffed and wrapped not great! Pork wasn’t crackling wasn’t fully cracked and the pork meat was very tough. The gravy was very poor very thin no body and no flavour! Overall disappointing.

Excellent food, great atmosphere, and not rushed in anyway, great evening, great offers with 1/2 priced menu.

We were only in the area for a few days and always try and book a meal at Miners Arms and happened to book a Monday evening. What a lovely surprise great food as always and half price amazing! If we are in the area again we would definitely try and make it on a Monday!!

We tried to look at the menu on line, as my wife likes Fish… We arrived to find there was no fresh fish on the menu… Actually there was very little that appealed to my wife.. She she had a starter with chips…her comment God they are Hot Hot… She enjoyed her food.. I also was undecided what to have, ended up with Fish Chips And Curry sauce It was Amazing, the curry sauce was to die for….if I only had a bigger fish & Chips…..But it was adequate and very delicious. Think next time we stay in Forest Dean…we will ring to find out what was on the menu that evening.. We arrived at 6 pm only to be told they had sold out of the lamb… Sold out…you only just re opened….i think they never received the lamb with there order…my wife would have been happy with the lamb…such a shame…. We have visited the restaurant previously, hence that’s why we came back… Food and staff…very good…

My wife and I visited The Miners whilst on holiday (May 2025) as a result of a Google search. We’re SO glad we did. The food was AWESOME! It was well cooked, beautifully presented and served with a smile. Every course was clearly freshly prepared and so well presented you would be forgiven for thinking that you were in a top class restaurant rather than a country pub. The lack of a menu online was a little frustrating at first, but on getting to the pub, it was actually a nice surprise to see what was on offer - and being a Thursday there was a choice of menu to eat a main course for £10. I chose the Haddock Bites from that menu and the amount of food was incredible value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend this place and can state without doubt that we will be back

Had a Monday evening meal with three adults and two children. Food was absolutely delicious and tasted freshly cooked . Service was very friendly ,efficient and exemplary. Wonderful occasion!

We came for a meal and brought my wife’s Sister and her Partner - who are both not local - they are visiting from Australia. The food for all 4 of us was excellent and great value for money as always from the Miners, my Wife and I do go there quite often. The service was excellent as always and all of the Staff are a credit to the establishment.

We rave about Sunday lunches at The Miners, normally, despite it being very busy, the service is first class. This time it wasn't as busy as normal but we had to wait 25 minutes, the plates had gone cool by the time the food arrived and the turkey was dry and the gammon ham was a really strange cut, almost like a gammon steak, so was impossible to carve. Left us thinking that the delay was due to a lack of gammon hence a steak was roasted and in the meantime the turkey dried out. Very unusual because as I said everything is normally like clockwork ! I'm sure this was a blip, but I'm sure that if we had been new clients, we wouldn't of returned. As it is, after years of having Sunday lunches at the Miners, I'm sure the next meal will be back to normal standard.

We have enjoyed Sun lunch a number of times at the Miners. As previously, the food was delicious, with a nice range of vegetables, and the Butchers block meats were cooked well and plentiful. As an ale fan I love the local beers, and my wife enjoyed the Mocktails that we haven't tried previously. The team also work brilliantly together, everyone happy to help with drinks or a question at any time. The walks locally are also brilliant, and all within a 10 min drive from the Miners They are also very Dog friendly. Thank you again, we will be back again

We visited the Miners Inn twice last week whilst on holiday.Service and food was very good and I'm sure we would return if we were in the area again

Visited this restaurant twice when we were holidaying in the area, on Monday evening and Thursday lunchtime. Both occasions the food was lovely and the price very very reasonable. We would have no hesitation recommending
