Unplanned and excellent evening with the usual superb food and interesting wine list. Such a friendly welcome and warm ambience it was a fantastic end to our week.

We love the Miners. The food is always excellent, Sunday lunch cannot be faulted it is absolutely wonderful. The meat is sourced locally and always cooked to perfection. All the food is local steaks are amazing and so are all the other dishes on offer, I can vouch for them all as over the months I’ve tried them all! It simply is one of the very best places to eat for miles!

Food was great, a party of 4 we had pork, ham and two turkey, plenty of vegetables and as much gravy as required, sauces, puddings to die for really enjoyed the meal, it’s been at least 4 years since we’d been here, just seemed exactly the same which was great as we brought our new friends we were not disappointed

We were blown away by the quality of the food! My fish dish was superb. The sea bass was cooked to perfection along with the mussels, crayfish, asparagus, spinach and samphire. Topped off with a creamy white wine sauce that was to die for! I don’t normally eat a big meal but I polished the lot off. Well done to the chef and the crew for a memorable evening.

We booked the Minners for our Valentine's day lunch after reading and hearing such good reviews. We must have picked the wrong day. It was empty except for one other couple and cold, although there was a nice open fire in another room. It just felt ordinary, 2 unopened daffodils in a small bottle, an unlit candle and a very limited Valentine's menu, no specials, no offers as advertised on there website . One of the waiting staff was dressed in a sloppy manor. We ordered fish and chips as a safe bet, the fish was grease and the peas were sat in water. We left feeling far from romanced and very disappointed.

So lucky to live near the Miners! Another great meal, my Dad wanted to go for his birthday and really enjoyed himself! Three of us had different fish dishes, all cooked perfectly and one had Indian spiced chicken, the chicken looked really good quality and was apparently brilliant! No room for desserts this time! Really looked after us and I can’t thank them for their care and preparation relating to my food allergy. Never disappointed at the Miners! Highly recommend a visit. Thank you again team!

Over the last 2 years we have eaten at the Miners several times (we are moving to the area in 2025). The food is always wonderful, along with the welcome/service. I would always recommend booking in advance, as it is very popular. I am sure we will return soon!

Had another superb meal at the Miners whilst spending a week in the Forest of Dean. Website was easy to navigate to book a lunchtime table for two. Menu choice was varied including the very appealing £10 lunch options. Service and food was superb. Burger and Indian style duck breast were amazing dishes, great ingredients well executed. The puddings of affogato and fruit salad with sorbet were excellent too. Would recommend Miners without any hesitation.

First visit and will definitely return . Very good value for money. I had Sea Bream which was perfectly cooked, delicious flavours. My husband had a burger which was great although he said he had had better.

Went with two lovely friends for the Monday night potluck for £10 mains. We booked for the latter end of the time they were serving food till so we knew there may be less choice, and we were still offered 6 different main options, including accomadating my friend needing vegetarian & gluten /dairy free dietary needs. The food was exceptional. Absolutely delicious, the staff couldn't have been lovelier and really wanted to make sure my friend had a fab meal working round their potluck availability. Lovely atmosphere. Puds half price too. I'd go back every Monday if I could!
