Do not miss this gem in Grasmere. What a special restaurant! It had the feel of an intimate meal at a friend’s house. The food was incredible — especially the sticky toffee pudding we had for dessert :-) I had the homemade curry, and my husband had the shawarma tofu. Amazing flavors in both.

We booked in for 2 consecutive nights at Lewis’s Bistro due to the extensive gluten free menu. I have to follow a strict gluten free diet and I am anxious about eating out. We both enjoyed our meals, the service was excellent and we will return soon. Many thanks to the chef.

Nice little bistro, good & friendly service and nice food. Whipped feta was beautiful, ideal small starter. Steak was lovely, meal was filling. Curry could have done with a bit more of a kick. Was the meal we enjoyed the most of our 3 nights in Grasmere.

Definitely worth a visit, but be sure to book ahead. The Whipped Feta starter was delicious and beautifully presented. Our main courses were excellent, and the kitchen was more than happy to accommodate our requested ingredient swaps without any fuss. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our visit. We also used the online booking system, which was quick, easy, and worked perfectly. With great food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere, we would highly recommend this restaurant.

This was our fifth visit to the restaurant and once again excellent service and food. Compliments to the chef for the delicious meals. Will book again and highly recommend our family and friends.

Another relaxed meal at Lewis's. We always make a point of booking here when staying in Grasmere. As well as the food being tasty, the service is at a very even pace which makes for an enjoyable night out.

Always a great meal here. The menu offers a variety of options and every course is delicious. Staff are friendly, attentive and make you feel welcome. I can't wait for our next visit.

Nobody acknowledged us on arrival and when they eventually did we were made to feel uncomfortable as we had arrived early. (We had called earlier to confirm it was ok to arrive early and were told that was fine as long as we sat outside - it was a hot evening so this was fine with us) We then asked if it would be ok to just have a drink while we wait for our table and were told they were busy with drinks too so no. At this point we were feeling very unwelcome. The food was sub standard and one meal was removed from the bill but in short we would never go back to this place.

We had dinner at Lewis's Bistro and had delicious food. A generous, well cooked piece of seabass was accompanied by excellent fresh and really tasty vegetables. A fantastic little restaurant with lovely friendly staff.

Pleasantly surprised at the overall experience on a Saturday evening having booked earlier that day. Scallops nicely cooked. Delighted with the Chardonnay we drank. Fillet steak was quality and cooked as desired. Chicken supreme also good. Sticky toffee pudding to share and espresso martini both up to standard. Would book again.
